Digital Camera

I need help on buying a new digital camera.
I don't neccessarly need the best camera, just one that's good and not too expensive. I have been checking out shops and there is a good one for around $100, so I might go with that one. I just want your opinion on which one to get.

Usually $100 = Shit quality photos.

My parents got a 2nd hand Kodak camera for around $500 with the docking station and all. Kodak cameras are pretty good.

you can get a decent CAnon (i would suggest SD450) or a Sony camera for around $200-$250.

$100 doesnt equal cheap pictures. Remember when looking for a camera, the quality and size is based on pixels, and with digital cameras its megapixel. But when who actually transfers a picture of 6 or 7 megs upto their pc? So in actuality, some of the cheaper cameras do the exact same job for amaetur pictures as the more expensive ones.

Srbija, i suggest ebay once again to get an idea of how cheap you can get one for, but also jb hi fi. Jb always has really cheap cameras. Just ask someone there for some help

yeah you def don't need high end cameras (7+ meg pixels, I think it goes up to like 10 or so)... a 4 or 5 will do..

I just bought an HP Photosmart digital camera (5.4 megapixels) for just €290...
If you need a cheap one but you want quality too I suggest you buy a Canon, which here in Italy is about €195 (3.5 megapixels).

Canon is excellent, especially in the A series (A95, A620, etc.) If you can get your hands on an older model (like an A80) from eBay or some other place that sells older cameras, then you can get quality for a good price.

Imo any camera is garbage except an slr. If you want a good camera get one with at least 5 megapixel and an optical zoom not a digital zoom. Also make sure it has some sort of flash.

Those are usually in the $1000 range. I think he's looking for a casual digital camera, not necessarily a professional one.

Oh then buy a cheap one. But consider buying an slr later when you save some cash. You could get one for $500

Seriously though, a very well done picture

I'd recommend if you can getting on that comes with NIMH batteries and a charger (if you don't already have one.) They last longer, cheaper. Also, you can sub in regular AA's if they run out. Lithium batteries are much more expensive to replace.

Just get the cheap ones for about 100, if you aint a pro.

If you want a quality one you can pick 'em up for around 200.

Sorry for bumping this, but I just bought a new digital camera.

It is a Canon Digital IXUS 60 and it cost $600. It is a 6.0 MP camera with 3x OZ and it has a 2.5" LCD.
