This is very sad news. He's been a great lover of animals and the environment and his enthusiasm was just infectious. Not to mention him having a young family.

Damn it, I was about to post this

Anyway, its kind of ironic that a lover of animals ends up getting killed by one. By far the most well-known Australian here in the US... sad to hear.

Whether you're a fan or not it's always sad to hear of people leaving us well before their time especially when they leave behind such young families and he was from all accounts a top bloke. The fact that the whole world has been informed before his wife seems somewhat callous to me as well but I guess that's just how the media works.

I remember during his appearance on the Tonight Show earlier this year, Steve and Jay were joking about how he'd probably meet his end doing something daring around animals and Steve laughed and said he couldn't think of a better way to go out. Who would have thought it would actually happen about eight months later?

Rest in peace, Crocodile Hunter.

What a stupid thing for you to say, this is a simple accident and this can happen to anyone. Anybody can be living freely then the next day be killed hit by a car, murdered car accident.

Thats not a stupid thing to say. He put him self in dangerous positions with dangerous animals. Even though he was a professional you never know how wild animals are going to react.

but see in this case a person like matt might bring up like osama bin laden, or people who have committed horrible crimes or war-crimes and stuff.

certain types of people in this world do deserve death. like the ones named above.

I said

this was bound to happen with all the animals he provoked.

You quoted me as:

just before u were saying that he deserved what he got

where in my post does it say that i said he "deserved" to die? It doesn't. My point was that doing what he does, there was a high probability that he would die a death related to his risky job, especially since he liked to provoke animals (which was classic to see him poking a rattle snake with a stick)

funk99 shut up. The death is the extreme of you flaming and getting flamed back.

If you mess with dangerous creatures, there's bound to be a consequence.

Many respects to Steve Irwin, I wish I saw him when I went to the Australia Zoo 3 years go, but he was on one of his many expeditions.

Crikey. RIP.
