Ouch, big problem for Alexsite...

yesterday I tried to make the first update since I came back from holidays, but when I tried to upload, it did not work.

remember, a few months ago, I was talking about problem with space limitations : here we are.
Indeed, Alexsite is now 150 Mo big, while I've got only 100 Mo. Certainly due to a bug before, I could still upload patchs while the site was bigger than 100 Mo. And during my holidays, Lycos, the Alexsite hoster, changed his hosting management and corrected the bug.
For the moment, I cannot upload anything, even a single html page, I must get room before.
I didn't have the time yesterday, but I'll start to remove some patchs today, especially cyberfaces made by 2 or more patchers. That shall be a short term solution. I feel sorry but from now, to save room, I could only upload one cyberface by player. I'll keep only the best ones. Please help me to choose the best one !

On long term, I can ask hosting at nba-live.com, but patchs will be hosted by this fileplanet thing, and I don't know if you, guys, like it.

I've got to make a choice between those cyberfaces and jerseys, tell me the ones you prefer. For each one I can only keep one now.

Beach Practice Court takes much room and is indeed already in the game - in a "hidden" file. Does many people have downloaded it ? Some told me that it doesn't work, i didn't try by myself. I've got to make up my mind.

I already removed Antoine Rigaudeau, as he retired from NBA to come back in Europe. You can still download him at www.ntpatch.fr.tc though.
I may do the same for Mirsad Turkçan.

I removed every duplicated cyberface (I only kept one for each player), removed beach court practice (the biggest zip on alexsite) and removed some ugly patchs or useless players (as mirsad turkcan, who may never be back in NBA, and at last you can download his cyberface at ntpatch.fr.tc)

But I'm still 39 Mo over the limitation !

I'll go on to make more space, if someone has an idea...

Alex, you can remove the oldest patches but keeping their previews. If anybody wants one of those patches we can use the e-mail (because i suppose that we've already my old version for Al Harrington or the David's version for John Salmons, for example).
Keep during 15 o 20 days the newest patches and then remove those versions.

Alex, Remove those guys who are still in the NCAA section that were seniors and didn't get drafted. eg Hollis Price, Jeff Newton. These guys are not on any rosters, and if they do pop-up on an NBA team just put them back.

Remove all of my patches. I don't need people to tell me they suck because I know....I need more practice before I can hang with the big dogs.

antwainbarbour, i won't remove your patchs, i kept fernandez santiago's one for Kirk Hinrich patch (instead of yours), but patchs like Antwain Barbour or Josh Howard are good enough to remain on Alexsite

Good idea for the NCAA Dirtdog, I already changed Carl English to FA (I only work on my computer for the moment, I'll upload everything only when the problem is over), but I don't know the other players that no longer play in NCAA !
Besides C. English, Price & Newton, are there other patched players that are no longer in NCAA ?

I was first thinking of spliting Alexsite in 2 sites, but it will be hard to manage.

So, like you mentionned, I'll use the "rotation" way : for older patchs, only the preview will be available. If you click to download, you'll see a page explaining that the patch is not available for the moment and that you have to mail the webmaster (me !) to get it.
If someone asks me for a patch unavailable, I'll put it back online.
To warn people of the rotation, I'll add on the main page a rotation list, ie the 10 next patchs who will be deleted to give some room for the newer ones

I'll work hard tonight to make Alexsite back as soon as possible !

That's good guys, Alexsite is slowly back... I've just started uploading...

I'll start today the "rotation" method, it may not be implemented everywhere for tonight, so don't worry if you find some 404 errors, everything will be ok for tomorrow (I hope !)
