Denver finally manages to stop Clippers’ streak
November 19, 2006

Los Angeles Clippers - 92
Denver Nuggets – 106

(Boxscore)
Yeah… well again guys I let the CPU play this game. I started the game, but I was kind of tired and after like less than a minute of playing I decided to take a nap, therefore I let the CPU play the CPU. We lost… but I have to admit, a loss was due anyways.

    ImageImage
Left: Elton Brand is forced to adjust his shot by Kenyon Martin, but still made it | Right: Carmelo Anthony with the flashy flush

    ImageImage
Left: Chris Duhon with a bounce pass under the arms of Julius Hodge | Right: Martin goes in for a strong left-handed dunk

    Game Notes

    - Marcus Camby was POTG with 23 points and 9 rebounds (I would suppose)
    - Mike Miller made all of his field goals from downtown, going 7-14 from the arc and 7-16 overall
    - Elton Brand had a great day on the boards with 17 rebounds, but he only managed to score 15 points in the loss
    - The Clippers were out-rebounded and out-assisted, 41-42 on the boards and 22-29 in assists

Clippers manage comeback against fellow Lakers
November 20, 2006

Los Angeles Clippers - 133
Los Angeles Lakers – 126

(Boxscore)
Coming into this game the Lakers were already the worst team in the league, with a 1-12 record; it didn’t help them that superstar Kobe Bryant got injured the day before this match with a broken toe and will be out of action for at least 3 weeks to a month.

The Lakers’ fortunes didn’t get any better into the game. Just 22 seconds into the last quarter forward Lamar Odom drove into the lane and collided with Mike Miller, and came down with a hand on his back. He slowly hobbled to the bench; so far no news has been released on Odom’s condition. Several minutes after Odom’s injury, the #1 Draft Pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, Ben Branch out of NLSC, was whistled for his 6th foul and ejected from the game.

These apparent setbacks seemed to actually fuel the Lakers as they jumped out to a 10 point lead after Odom and Branch left the court, mostly due to the sharp shooting of Smush Parker and the rebounding of Luke Walton. The Clippers however turned to their superstars Elton Brand and Corey Maggette for points. Finally a Maggette steal off Walton at midcourt that led to a fast-break dunk gave the Clippers their first lead of the quarter at 112-111.

As the quarter went on, the Lakers’ dependence on Bryant, Odom, and Branch showed as the Clippers grabbed several offensive rebounds in a row and made them into points. On the other end Brand and Diaw took control of the boards, making ever ball their own.

By the end of the game, the Lakers were resorted to intentionally fouling the Clippers, which is never a good thing because the Clippers are the best Free-Throw shooting team in the entire league. The free throws were made and the Lakers fell to 1-13.

Corey Maggette was named POTG with 36 points and 7 rebounds.

    ImageImage
Left: Odom walks off in pain (I think Brown is making it worse, poking his back) | Right: Maggette with the flying dunk on both Cook and Walton

    ImageImage
Left: Maggette shows Branch who’s the real star in Los Angeles | Right: Duhon tosses the alley-hoop over Walton’s head

    Game Notes

    - Lakers rookies Branch, Deron Green, and Vince Hewitt combined to score 35 points, Green was the only one not in double-figures
    - Elton Brand was the runner-up for POTG with 22 points and 12 rebounds, as well as 8 blocks
    - The Clippers were extremely out-muscled down low, because they only grabbed 35 boards while giving 53 to the Lakers
    - The Lakers had 3 players grab double-digit rebounds: Brown, Branch, and Odom

Jazz give Clippers run, but fall in Overtime
November 23, 2006

Los Angeles Clippers - 137
Utah Jazz – 130

(Boxscore)
Not much went on during the first 4 quarters of the game. Both teams battled back and fourth and ended up with a tie at the end of regulation 111-111.

With just 1:01 left in overtime and the Clippers up 128-126 in a close game, the leader of the game for the Jazz, Mehmet Okur was called with his 5th foul on Hakim Warrick, thus had to be replaced. He was replaced however by 7’5 rookie Dean Karpovtsev. Karpovtsev may have been tall, but he was outplayed by fellow rookie Glen Hsu and clever veteran Zejiko Rebraca. Near the end of the game Carlos Boozer also was called for the 5th and was taken out as well. With their front line missing, the Jazz had nothing left and despite Andrei Kirilenko’s huge game, they fell 137-130. Most of the point difference came in the intentional fouls.

    ImageImage
Left: Diaw pokes the ball from Okur as Okur went up for a jumper | Right: Big Dean Karpovtsev goes in for a extremely powerful dunk

    Game Notes

    - Karpovtsev is only the 4th player in NBA history to span over 7’5; the formers being Shawn Bradley, Yao Ming, Geroge Muresan, Chuck Nevitt, and Minute Bol.
    - The Clippers were outrebounded 50-54.
    - Utah shot significantly better from the free throw line, going 19-20 for 95.0% while the Clippers shot 27-38 for only 71.1%; but LAC got more points
    - The game featured an astounding 67 assists; 37 for the Clippers
    - Elton Brand was named POTG with 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks

Clippers complete with Jazz Four Player Swap
November 24, 2006

Image Image
The Los Angeles Clippers annouced, one day after they played the Utah Jazz, that they had completed a trade with the Jazz, swapping point guard Shaun Livingston and 11th man Toni Kukoc for the Jazz's point guard Deron Williams and Dean Karpovtsev.

"We were impressed by Deron and Dean, and felt like they can help us continuing our winning ways better than Shaun and Toni. I wish for the best to them in Utah, and look foward to a even brighter future here in Los Angeles." Said the GM.

The players "ratings" and salaries were literally identical, therefore the trade went through even smoother.

oh man... I just got back from Dinner after going to Morse Hill with my cluster. (BTW the margaritas during dinner was HOT!)

Pictures are not us, just pictures taken from their website.

One of the stuff we did was a low ropes course called Mohawk Trail, where we had to walk on like a wire a foot above the line and stuff, and we have to stay on and all that, it was hard as hell! to hold the ropes and make sure everyone stays up and all that..

It was really hard to stay up (not as hard as the High Ropes), and you needed to keep people on the line. Its harder than it looks.

Image

afterwards we like did this high ropes thing.... and i swear, i thought high was only like a couple feet... This one thing we did was called "Pamper Pole", it was like a 40-50 feet pole above the ground, we climbed it and jumped off from the top, with a rope tied to us to hold us up afterwards. It was really hard espically at the top to manage to stand up on the top of the pole... it took guts, but everyone did it..

here is a picture from their website.. it doesn't look like a big deal in the picture, but you are like more or less at the top of the trees.

Image

Lastly we did this "Playground" thing going vertically, for like 50-60 feet, it was scary, i only made it up like 3/4... I just had no strength by the end of the day. In the end everyone that came particiapted and did the events, and I come away with new respect for our cluster because we understand what we are scared of, and have helped each other overcome these things.

Here is the Vertical Playground. This went at least like 10 feet higher than the Pole.... I got to the first tire, but I just didn't have the arm strength anymore after a whole day of climbing and running...

Image

I seriously hope we do this for Spring Training or next years' training. I would love it.

Well... As much as I love Live... the features of 06 just no longer interests e anymore... therefore I am going to end this Clippers one. During the time between this and the release of 07, I plan to be hooked on Madden 07, so expect to see a Madden Dynasty from me

Thanks for the great NBA Live 06 following. (Y)
