I don't think I ever did some record thing for free throws... Once I bet with a friend who could make more treys out of 50 shots... I got 37 baskets (good times then, like 5 years ago), he got 20-something... So I won... a cup of Coke, lol

I consider myself a Jeff Hornacek-quality free throw shooter...

You mean you touch yourself at the line too? :D

The most free throws in a row that I've hit was 30-odd FT's just recently when I was shooting around at a near by stadium.

In a game I've hit about 6 at the most I think.

Most in a game is 6, and that was all my attempts, and is the most I have ever attempted in game. If I take 6 on average I'll hit 4-5, about a 70-75% shooter. Not great, not bad.
EDIT: About worsts, I've shot 6 ft's in a game twice, the time mentioned I made 6, then another time I hit 1.

I pull it back over my head, bounce it three times, spin/toss it a little for one bounce, bend my knees, and release...

I bounce it three times too, but while I bounce it I don't take my eyes off the basket. Then it's the usual, bend the knees slightly, and make sure to release the ball with your shooting arm following through right over the leg corresponding to your shooting arm (if that makes sense). It may also help to put your foot (right if you're right handed, left if you're left handed) forward, and right in the middle of the ft line. That way when you follow through right over your corresponding leg, your arm is pointing directly to the basket. (y)

free-throw is the easisest shot in basketball, its so easy:bounce couple of times, take a deep breathe and release.

It's definitely not the easiest shot. You haven't hit them 100% like you should probably do in layups. I'm sure you can hit better than 17-17 layups.

I dont let that day bother me though I know i play better than that and shoot better than that. I jus laughed it off

Im not giving an excuse but a couple factors that could of hurt me was that it was windy on a very tight double rim but i should of still hit more than one

My record is probably 0-0 because I don't play basketball. On an outside court I had like 11-11 though. I guess korfball teaches you how to aim as well ;)

this thread reminds me of something I read on the old forum. Years ago I remember one of the old school posters, can't remember who it was, describing an occassion where he got to shoot free throws at half time of an NBA game or something... they gave him 5 and he missed the lot. They way he described it was just funny. Any old vet still reading the forum want to own up and re-tell this really funny story?????????? (y)
