So what if I put Eminem number one? Its all about taste like they said. I put him number one because I grew up with him. When I was 10, my parents were fighting (2001) And I started to lsiten to him. His music actually helps. Because when I listen to songs such as Stan, Sing For The Moment, and The Way I am I just feel happy and doze off. Some of his songs make me feel better because I hear people have worser lives than me. His earlier music was just amazing, his newer stuff isnt bad, but he really needs to stop making songs like Ass Like That and Just Lose It. His older "Funny" songs like Without me and The Real Slim Shady were good but now he's getting older and doesnt know whats good no more lol.

But its all matter of taste and how you grew up with music. Some people grew up listening to Nas so thats thier number 1.

Come on, be nice to him.

Jackal may not like you Wankster, but Jackass (me) does. I think you are a good looking young male who needs to explore the female sex a bit more. I have been reading your posts over the past days and although Jackal thinks you're a punk ass mother fucking maggot, I think you're sweet. You speak your mind and try to not be like anyone else. You've got a bad boy demeanour going on and what's more of a turn on than being a bad boy on a forum filled with gangsters and Onyx's? Kickass.

I applaud you for having the courage to show your sex appeal and I encourage you to post more pictures of yourself, no one knows how many rose tinted teenage hearts have fallen in love with the few pictures you've posted of yourself already.

Much love, peace and respect.

The one I probably agree with the most. I would like to add Jadakiss, T.I., Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Canibus, KRS-1, Twista in no particular order. I don't know why all the hate on T.I. though.

Lil' Wayne is wack as hell.. he collaborates with anyone and anything to get some shine, has a ghostwriter (who got shot so he's fucked) and no skills.
Someone will probably come up with a link saying one of my favorite rappers has a ghostwriter too or something but that's cool, I'm actually pretty curious which other major rappers have one.

DFB honorable mention is a joke, Fort Minor is way better than them (still no honorable mention though).

ps. I enjoy listening to DFB, but I'm just saying they don't belong anywhere near such a list. Childish rhymes and catchy, commercial sound (that's probably why I like to listen to them though).

Since the Dedication 2 Mixtape by Lil' Wayne, i have been loving his music. Sure its kinda corny and what not, but I jus think his squeaky voice is cool. Trae is pretty cool, but i haven't heard much songs from him. New faces (new to me) in the rap industry have pretty good songs, like Keak de Sneak and Freeway. BTW stop making fun of ppl if they like 50 Cent or Tony Yayo (Y)

I'm going with Nick on the SOAD stuff. The Toxicity stuff was more daring but the sogn writing in the new stuff has gotten better although they've gotten rather pop-ish.

If I could hear SOAD stuff without vocals I might like it. As is, the attempt at originality with its unique vocal stylings leaves me disappointed.

Let's see now, favourite new rock bands:

1. Coheed & Cambria - if you haven;t checked them out yet, drop what you're doing an get it now. They have combined the sound of classic/progressive rock from the 70s with a modern concept, which is basing all their albums/songs on a novel witten by the lead singer. It's a really interesting story, but learning it is not a prerequisite to enjoying their music. Their last album, "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV...." is the best album of the decade.

2. alexisonfire - if you're one of the people who thinks they're all about suicide and teen angst, wake the fuck up and listen to their stuff. Their new album comes out in a few weeks, and its probably the album of the year, and Boiled Frogs is the song of the year. Their instrumentals have drastically improved, their different vocalists are all unique and all contribute to very interesting and insigtful music.

3. Kaddisfly - very versatile, very intelligent band, awesome instrumentals. They have a really cool sound, sort of indie prog.

4. From Autumn to Ashes - melodically better than alexisonfire, but occasionally they get a little repetitive. I love that they do some much longer songs, and aren't afraid to try different approaches or styles, ranging from overly aggressive to very melodramatic.

5. The Mars Volta - This band frustrates me. They show many flashes of brilliance, but the have too many songs that you just can't wait until they finish. I understand that they are very progressive and experimental, but given the songs they've had success with, you would think they would try to do that style more than once or twice an album. Amputecture is a step back in my opinion, yet they always leave me wanting more, and their hits are as good as anyones.

6. Circa Survive
7. Stutterfly
8. A Static Lullaby
9. My Chemical Romance
10. Trivium
11. Thrice
12. Avenged Sevenfold
13. Thursday
14. Bear vs. Shark
15. Nightwish
16. The White Stripes
17. Muse
18. Wastefall
19. Finch
20. Silentium

Rock is the best music because it is the one that explodes the electric guitar wich is the music instrument capable of do the widest range of sounds (except for shitty computer made music). Rap lyrics could sound like poetry but speaking of music Rap is just mediocre music. Every whipersnaper who like to mess around with music can do Rap music in 5 minutes while You have to master several instruments (especially the electric guitar) to make rock. That 's what I think.

It's not easy to make a rap song, especially if you want to make a name for yourself and blow away everyones minds with awesome lyrical flow.

One of my friends wrote the lyrics of a rap song in two hours at school and he got paid 500€ by Hollywood Rythmoteque (The best disco in Milan) just for letting another dude sing the lyrics over a base made by the local DJ.
[personal opinion] I don't think it's hard at all...You know, it takes from three to seven years to learn how to play GOOD the guitar, the bass or the drums. People sitting in front of a fucking computer, just hitting the button of the fucking mouse, creating no music, but just fucking dumb sounds that are the same all the time, get the same respect of a dude who actually spent a lot of time learning how to fucking make MUSIC touching the fucking strings of the fucking guitar.
Get it in your fucking mind: rap is easy, everyone is able to do it if they just put little effort on it, but it isn't music. Music isn't made to entertain, music isn't made to talk about ghettos, or bitches, or getting rich. Nobody cares if you're rich or if you lived in a ghetto and selled crack to little kids to survive.
Rappers (the ones that lived in poor conditions at least) could be one of the most intelligent and smart people in the country, because (as little kids) seeing how they live they should be motivated to study hard, get a job, a schoolarship and get the fuck out of that hell as fast as they can. But they don't wanna do that, they wanna stay at that level, all they want to do is to get money without working hard, and spend all that money in getting 1327128037 houses, 1238213245 cars and billions of other useless shit. No money spent on his kids' school, not worrying about building a family, not worrying about getting a degree, etc.
I don't want to listen to the "music" a dude like that wrote. Surely there are people that play other genres that are like that, but at least they're not fucking lazy asses like rappers. At least they're not too lazy to work hard to fucking learn how to fucking play a guitar or another instrument. [/personal opinion]

rap isnt music, but its still got a strong and meaningful message. im not talking bout trick daddy talkin bout lil kims dick, but rappers with real messages, like pac. people that dont listen to rap have that stereo type of bitches cars and money... real rap is nothing like that. and REAL rap is not easy, its like any other music (lyrically) except its performed differently, and different people relate to the messages. i cant listen to say "emo" music or anything like that, because i cant relate. but thats ur opinion and this is mine

Emo is basically a music genre performed by young idiots who grew up listening to Sex Pistols and...uhm just Sex Pistols. Completely ignoring what rock music is (no I don't qualify the Sex Pistols as a rock band...they're not like AC/DC or Led Zeppelin or any other good band. I've even heard that they didn't really play the instruments, etc) and getting their minds filled of "the most different and depressed I am, the better" post-it messages. But actually "emo" is music, since the band plays musical instruments and there is a singer.
I agree with you that rap has got a strong and meaningful message, but a song fullfilled with "fuck you", "fuck y'all", "fuck eastside/westside", and all types of "fucks" and insults (i.e. "I don't give a fuck" or "Hit 'em up" by Tupac) isn't the best way to show that message. The thing you call REAL RAP could be done by any kid that lives in a ghetto or a bad neighbourhood but thank God some kids are more interested in things like studying, graduating and getting a degree.

its pretty obvious u dont listen to rap, i think that if we were to switch places, i would understand rock and u would understand rap... but neither of us would like each others tastes in music. its a matter of being able to relate to the music, tht lets u enjoy it. i cant relate to rock songs, but i also can't relate to some rap songs either. also with the eastside/westside thing i think thats the stereotype cumin thru again. and yea, wen i go to school tomoro i mite actually knock this little emo cunts teeth out, not just coz he is emo, but because hes a punk ass little smart mouthing shit (completely off topic)
