On a serioud though, the forum really is lacking something. Maybe its not being able to read Riots America Loving posts or witness a flamefest on Dweaver...who knows. The World Cup fever has died down alot also which is depressing because I love football.

I've done some thinking, and I'm not convinced this place is empty, but at the moment it is complete garbage.
It's got nothing to do with the quality of threads or whatever, but we have ALOT of new (and some not so new) posters who couldn't shit out a decent post if their life depended on it posting 12-15 times per day and turning this into some sort of bullshit EA.com'esque message board.
We (i.e those of us with a brain) are completely and utterly outnumbered. Some people tell off these idiots, but most the time they are just as bad themselves so it doesn't really count. I can't go around banning everyone for being shit posters (well technically I could) because then they'll just fill Andrew's inbox with "WHY WAS I BANNED CUZ IT WASNT FAIR!!!" emails or join under another name. Matthew's gone so there's no real authoritarian around, Yohance does a good job but my interest in dealing with these morons is decreasing rapidly. What's the point? Sure we might ban one or two of these spastics but then another 4 or 5 join in their place, THEN they re-join under new fucking names. There's just no way around it.

Indeed it isn't empty. You've just got a lot of people posting like eachother. I honestly can not differntiate between some posters anymore. I suppose the people's posting style just looks like eachother. Quality threads aren't a problem. People can make those, I can make those, but look at how many normal responses you get back. Usually it's just "yea, I agree" and then you get around 12 replies while you put in a bit of effort.
Hey, I'm no super good poster and I also like to have fun, but I don't think I've felt dearly for a topic since...well a long time. The last real good thread I can remember is the one where I went a bit spastic on DRESPN for going all anal on me about not being a "true" Laker fan. And that also is way back when.
Right now I'd say there are only a handfull of posters I can distinguis and that I enjoy reading their posts. The top of the list is headed by Cyanide ofcoure. Andrew's a great webmaster and all, but after seeing his webmasterlike posts over the years, you don't really look forward to them as much. Now that isn't a knock on him, it's a webmasters job and all. But at the end of the day he's still loads more fun on MSN. (When we used to talk that is.)
I'm really glad Nick is back posting, might also not be the best poster ever, but entertaining he is. Dadamafia's posts are also beginning to catch my eye and I enjoy reading them. Jae's posts are also always read by me, JeffX aswell and Air Gordon although he disappears for spurts.
Colin seems to have gotten buried, OSF is back. Onyx is back. Koberulz is going all kamikaze on the forums etc.
Oh, another few who's post I look forward to is Shadowgrin, VanK (we have differences and all, but he's still a semi sane poster) and Indy. Although he sticks to anything/everything Indy related.
I don't know, maybe it's always been this way, maybe I'm just getting old and not finding the fun I used to find out here when I was like 14 or 15. Maybe it is just me. All I can do is wait it out, see where it goes from here.
No point in me trying anything new, given everyone already has an image of me. People would expect it from Jae to come up with some sort of comedy show or game show or a competition, that lasts for 3 months and gives everyone lots of joy and then that's finished and he's expected to do it all over again with something new. Unfair in my opinion but that's how it is.
I say all that's left to do is sit back and let everything run it's course. It'll either get better, or not. I doubt it can get any worse than this.
