CP3:"We can make far..."

CP3 in a press conference for the playoffs

Press agent:"Chris, what does it feel now that you made to the playoffs in your first year, you're the leading candidate for ROY, and your team is
showing great performance?"

Chris Paul:"I'm happy of course, but I don't really care about personal performance right now, because we have big tasks to do and if we want to reach them we have to play as a team."

Press agent:"Your team is ranked 9th in the league and 5th in the western conference, you're meating San Antonio Spurs, last year's champs in the quarter finals, do you think you can beat them?"

Chris Paul:"Well at first we lost to the Spurs in the season and we really want a revenge, second they didn't show great performance in their last games, lost 3 in a row. I believe we can beat them, but it's going to be very hard, probably a 6 or 7 games series so it won't be easy at all. Besides the Spurs I believe we can make far..."

Press agent:"Could you talk a bit about the bad performance of Desmond Mason?"

Chris Paul:"He can play a lot better, he proved it at practice, but he can't do it in-game. He made a few good performance in the begging of the season, but his game was going worse and worse. Coach and GM were talking about him and mentioned that he probably won't be in our team the next season. Not only because of his game, but about his salary. They were talking about P.J. too, that he's really not worth his salary, and that he probably won't be playing in our team next season too..."

Press agent:"OK, last question. What are your teams plans for the next season?"

Chris Paul:"Well at first we have to finish this one(laughing). And the coach talked about that he wants more deffense from us, and that may be a sign that we will be fighting to get Big Ben. You know that Hornets were the last in team in the blocks rankings. We don't really know anything much, just they say that our team will be a lot stronger next season."

Press agent:"OK, thank you Chris..."

Chris Paul:"Thank you too, and goodbye".

Yeah, but I'm not pretty sure I'm going to get him...

If I don't, I don't really know what to do, because to get him is #1 in the off-season task list for me...

Hornets shock Spurs in their home court…

Image
Hornets win the first match of the series…

New Orleans 107, San Antonio 100

The Hornets start the series against Spurs with a bang…

The game was taken into Spurs hands at the beginning, they had the home court advantage… Using it, they took a 8-point lead at the beginning and held it till the end of the quarter. But the Hornets surprised them, by destroying it at the end of the last, and creating they’re own, 4 point lead.

In the second Hornets were smashed able to score only 10 points, while Spurs scored 32 and had a 22 point lead. Hornets couldn’t defend properly or attack successfully.
They had the last quarter to win and they use it… By playing perfect defense and letting Spurs score only 7 points. Spurs were often fouling, but that didn’t spot the Hornets who made 19 of 20 ft’s (season-best). They were able to overcome the 22 point deficit and win the game…

Spurs got their revenge in Game 2 of the Western conference quarter finals against the New Orleans Hornets.

They controlled the game all night long , and didn’t gave up a bit… Hornets had a 4 point lead at the very begging, it was their only lead…
The Hornets and the Spurs meet in New Orleans for the next matchup. Hornets’ coach and players want to end this series at home...

You've got a win on their homecourt which is always a good thing. Even though you lost the second game, you're chances of winning the series are somewhat higher since the next three games are at home.

Way to go man. Just one more win and you'll pull off probably one of the hugest upsets in NBA history.

Fanastic performance by Desmond Mason by the way, I'm glad to see him do well since he's one of my favourites on the Hornets.

I thought the system of the playoffs is 2-3-2, but I played only two home games in a row not 3, wtf?

Wow, Bruce Bowen was like Michael Jordan that game....

It's always difficult to lose to the computer by a small margin, especially if its by some stupid foul that the computer commits behind the three point line. I've always hated those.

On a more positive note, Desmond Mason had another monster game. It looks like Bowen's defence isn't so great. (Y)

Argh ... Bowen with a monster game offensively ... I hate that, but 07 will be better with those semi stars. Well I hope you can finish them now, or you wont pass them imo.

Spurs celebrate Game 6 victory

New Orleans 106, San Antonio 109

The San Antonio tried to continue the series at the New Orleans arena, and they were successful.
It was almost like the same scenario, just the different court. Bruce Bowen once again got the player of the game award by saving Spurs with 27 points. Desmond Mason couldn’t repeat his last games performance, scoring only 13 points this time.
Boris Diaw proved his value, by grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 15 points.
The Hornets GM says that if they make to the second round, they’re off-season plans will change a lot, firstly because of improved performance by Desmond Mason and Boris Diaw. Secondly because of Kirk Snyder’s falling.

The Spurs celebrated Game 6 victory, but who will be victorious in Game 7 at San Antonio?
