problem with starting game

hi. i can barely even start-up the game now. theres like this freakin problem that whenever i start a regular game, it would load up, but near the end of loading or at near the start, i would always get the message saying CODEBASE ERROR. so now i cant even play now because of that stupid thing. help me out here, please?

i seriously think u shuld take a step back, just reinstall ur game and try putting all ur patches back in, testing the game after each major patch because it seems too me u r taking this too fast and ur probly making little errors without noticing

CODEBASE errors generally occur when a database has been corrupted. You might have to start over with your dbf editing.

WELL, from the codebase error, heres what it says exactly:

edit: so, for the appearance.dbf, do all the FACEIDs for every player have to be -1? cause im mostly seeing -1 if thats what it has to be or so. o_O

If there is a cyberface the number should be -1. If the face is from create a player, I think there should be another number there. (I'm pretty sure)

That message would suggest there's an error with appearance.dbf, quite likely a corruption. Have you modified appearance.dbf in any way? If so, which program did you use?

edit: is there any other alternate way i could get this problem to be fixed without having to reinstall the game? i dont want to have to go through the whole problem ALL over again, get what i mean? thats going to be a real pain in the booty. yup! so, any "plan B"?

No. If a file is corrupted, then you'll need to start again. You don't have to reinstall the game, you just won't be able to use that file anymore. You'll need to start editing again from scratch (or hopefully a working backup, if you have one).

well, its a lil worse than that. you see, according to my problem as to how it doesnt work when i load up a file, it doesnt work. but when i load up ANY folder, it still has a problem. i dont know what to do. ive tried loading up all my saves folder and it stops working at a certain point. hmm, tell you what. ill send over my saved folder and maybe anyh of you can see what my problem is because IDK what the problem is. i try to fix something in the appearance.dbf, but nothing is happening. here it is:

PS: im very sorry about my previous behaviorial times. i owe an apology. yes, i know i should be more patient cause things like these do take a long time to figure out and it is in the summer time cause ppl wanna chill more and itll take some time for ppl to get to their messages. so ill be as calm as i can now

Sorry, I don't have the time or energy to go through it right now and in any case, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I'd suggest restoring the dbf files in the originaldb, workingdb and currentdb folders (copy them from the CD) and start your editing again.

under database folder, whats mpdata?

You shouldn't have to worry about that one, but restoring the files to the default in that one certainly wouldn't cause any problems.

how come whenever i go to create a player and view a certain created player like wafer, turiaf, gomes, or taft, and then it stops loading. but when i go into a game it works? i need to be able to see my players clearly and up close to edit their skin and stuff.
