I bought FIFA 2004 as it was so cheap as an EA Sports classic.
I have some problems: I know how to pass and score...my offense is quite good. But defence is more difficult. On world class the computer always plays the same style. Runs like mad with turbo...passes...and scores. Almost all shots go in and my goalkeeper never saves the ball...he just stands there and watches the ball go in...even if I press the button to make the goalkeeper come out.
So how do I play defense? I get the ball often but when the computer runs with turbo it is difficult...and as soon as my defender approaches the computer he passes...and passes...totally quick passing...and shoots and scores...same goal again and again.
Another question: Is it possible to play a league like in Fifa 2004? Only friendly matches and tournament knock-out modes suck.

Don't play on World Class. Learn to play defence more effectively on a lower difficulty setting and then go from there.

Yes but this happens on amateur as well. I found out that it is better not to guard 1 on 1 but try to intercept passes. It works but only in midfield. The computer often passes with his defenders to a midfielder who runs and the ball goes from defense to the strikers so quickly. Then a few passes, one runs to the open spot, my defenders are too slow to intercept or attack and one shot, one goal.
HOW do you play defense in FIFA 2004?
