Raps 'Slip up' in home opener

Image
Mo Pete falls during last night's game

The Toronto Raptors went into last night's game with

high hopes they had recently signed an above average player 'the

Game' who not only brought skill to the court, but fans also. The ACC was

packed for last night's game as many people wanted to see just what

Jayceon Taylor could do. And he didn't disappoint, he knocked in 22 points

in 29 minutes on 8-12 shooting [from the field] but his success didn't help

get the 'W' as the rest of the squad played like garbage. "I'm deeply

ashamed of the boys' tonight" Mitchell said. "We work so hard in the

offseason then go out their and play like 'chickens with their heads cut off'

. "We gotta get back to the drawing board before we play New Jersey" he

added. The ACC is expected to be packed tomorrow night as the Raptors

take on the Nets, and a special somebody  .

Rumor Mill

Both Pape Sow and Loren Woods have discussed the need to be moved. Neither of them are very pleased with the minutes they got last game. Both centres combined for 1 minute :?. Among the teams interested in both centres services include Atlanta and New Orleans who have a lot of young players available.

Bosh brilliant in Raps W

VC tries to create but it isn't enough to stop the energetic Raptors

Tonight Bosh proved to Vince Carter and the Nets that he is the new man

in Toronto and they don't need Carter anymore. Bosh scored 34 points in

50 minutes of play  the game went into overtime and the energetic

Raptors took advantage of the fatigued Nets. A sold out crowd of 'VC-

haters' cheered everytime he missed, and he missed a lot shooting 7-24

for the game. Bosh had a season-night scoring 34, 14 rebounds, and

4 blocks. "I just played well, I had a lot of mismatches tonight" he said.

"We need to keep this up, and we'll win a lot this year" he added. The

Raptors now go on the road to face former Eastern Conference Champs,

Detroit Pistons.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City, Raptors Strike a Deal

Today the Raptors front office has annouced they have sent Pape Sow, Loren Woods, and Jose Calderon to New Orleans in exchange for Speedy Claxton, Rasual Butler, and Brandon Bass.

PG - Calderon ; C - Pape Sow ; C - Woods

WHY :?: Both center's wanted out of Toronto because of their lack of playing time. Jose Calderon was a solid point guard to match salaries. Claxton will take over the starting role from Mike James as he is a better passer and a more true point guard. Mike will help the bench with scoring. Rasual Butler added a much needed 3-ball shooter to our bench. Bass is a strong presence down low who will replace the Woods and Sow strength wise.

Eastern Powerhouse stomp Raps

Rip pumps his fist in apporval of the Pistons victory

This game was supposed to be an indication of where the Raptors stand in

the Eastern Conference. Instead Raptors tempers flared as they took a

beating from Rip Hamilton and company. New Raptor Jayceon Taylor and

first year Raptor Mike James got into a confrentation which saw Jayceon

being ejected. In a night that was supposed to be a step forward

[acquiring 3 new players] it turned out to be a discusting showing on the

Raptors part. The arguement between the two resulted in a shoving match

it happened in the second quarter. It started when they were trailing by 10

and Mike James took 5 quick 3's [missing all 5] Jayceon didn't approve

and told him "go sit on the bench, scrub". Mike didn't take kindly to this

and pushed 6'4" Jayceon saying "**** you, your contract is almost over".

The Game pushed James on the ground and tried to kick him but the ref

intervened. Game was ejected and Mitchell pulled James. The Raptors

are now officially at a crossroad, they need to get rid of one of these guys

and protect their core of Bosh, Charlie, Graham, and Claxton.
