I'd want Inter to pick up Cannavaro, Zambrotta and Ibrahimovic... won't happen but it'd be nice.
skysports.com wrote:Eidur Gudjohnsen moves to FC Barcelona
Barcelona have completed the signing of Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen for a reported £8.2 million.
The 27-year-old passed a medical on Wednesday and within a few hours had wrapped up the formalities of his switch to the Camp Nou.
After Barca had earlier agreed a fee with The Blues for the former Bolton player, Gudjohnsen put to pen-to-paper on a reported four-year contract to end Frank Rijkaard's long pursuit of the player.
The Icelandic international found himself increasingly on the margins of the Chelsea first team last season but was still widely regarded as one of the most complete strikers in The Premiership.
Gudjohnsen, who scored 54 goals in 186 league games for The Blues, has the chance to make a similar name for himself in La Liga and it is a challenge he is relishing.
"I would like to express my happiness at joining one of the most prestigious clubs in the world," said Gudjohnsen.
"They are the winners of the Champions League and Spanish league. I was at a big club before and it is always a big challenge to join a new team.
"I now have to win the confidence of the coach and make it difficult for him to leave me out.
"It is a great honour for me and I hope to make the supporters happy.
"There were other big clubs interested in me but when Barca show their interest, it is not possible to say no.
"I was at a big team before at Chelsea and everyone needed to be motivated to succeed and I have the same aim here."
Gudjohnsen admitted the time was right to move on from The Premiership champions after holding talks with Jose Mourinho.
"We had a discussion and we decided it was time to move on after six years," added Gudjohnsen.
"At the time, I did not talk about Barca but when we played against them, he did tell us about the passion the people had and he tried to make us understand what it means for the Catalonian people - it is the people's club."
I'm not sure why Barca are signing Gudjohnsen.

Paris - France striker Djibril Cisse will play for Marseille next season as part of a loan deal with English club Liverpool, a French sports daily reported on Friday.
The two clubs reached an agreement on the loan Thursday, daily L'Equipe reported, without citing sources. Cisse is under contract with Liverpool until 2009.
Cisse broke his right tibia in France's warm-up match against China two days before the World Cup began last week, and is expected to be out of action for at least five months.
The 24-year-old striker, who scored 18 goals for Liverpool last season, has accepted a salary cut as part of the loan, the report said, adding that he has long wanted to play for Marseille. - Sapa-AP

If I remember correctly Eidur has good size so he can battle up front in a partnership with Eto'o and stick his head on a couple of crosses. Much better than throwing Messi up front, I feel he and Ronaldinho play much better as attacking midfielders since they have more room to work. They put Ronnie up front during the Champions League final and we all saw how that worked out...not his best performance. The one thing I dont like about Barca is they dont have guys with a little weight on them. I mean, look at Giuly, Messi, Larsson (now gone). I think it would be better in the long run to have a Eto'o/Gudjohnsen pairing instead of having Eto'o as the lone striker...I just love 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 formations.
Eidur looks like a Barca guy anyways. He already looks good in their shirt.

skysports.com wrote:D'Allesandro moves to Real Zaragoza
Real Zaragoza have struck a deal with Wolfsburg for Andres D'Alessandro.
The Spanish outfit have agreed a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent deal at the end of that.
The 25-year-old has snubbed a return to Portsmouth, where he spent the latter part of last season on loan, in order to complete a move to Spain.
D'Alessandro revealed it was always one of his dreams to play in La Liga after completing his Zaragoza switch.
"When you start your football career you have various dreams and one of mine was to play in the Spanish league, which is the best," explained the new signing.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp harboured hopes of luring D'Alessandro back to the South Coast - but the player has decided his future is best served in La Liga.
"We are happy to have reached an agreement with such a well-known club as Zaragoza," said Wolfsburg business manager Klaus Fuchs.

Written by: Francisco Barreto
SEVILLA, June 21 (SW) - Real Betis midfielder Joaquin will leave the Sevilla club this summer, his agent said.
Aurelio Sanchez, Joaquin’s father and agent, declared that the in-demand youngster would most likely join Real Madrid if Juan Palacios, who is running for the Real Madrid presidency, is elected to the top post.
“If Palacios wins, the transfer would be possible. Any way, Joaquin believes that his time at Betis is coming to an end.
"I think that an eventual separation could be positive both for the player and the club."
The 25-year-old right winger, who is currently on duty with Spain at the World Cup finals in Germany, has also been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool.
skysports.com wrote:Bellamy seals dream move
Blackburn Rovers striker Craig Bellamy has completed his move to Liverpool after conceding he could not reject the chance to join his boyhood heroes.
The FA Cup winners activated a clause in the Wales international's Blackburn contract earlier this week and were reluctantly given permission to talk to the 26-year-old.
Bellamy was quick to agree personal terms with The Reds and has signed a four-year contract at Anfield.
His switch to Merseyside comes less than 12 months after Bellamy joined Blackburn, but he insists he could not refuse Rafa Benitez's offer.
"The fact that it was Liverpool made it impossible for me to turn down the move," Bellamy told the club's official website.
"As I'm a fan, it doesn't matter what club I was at - I could never turn Liverpool down.
"You get the chance to play for Liverpool and it's a lifelong dream come true.
"I had a lot of friends at Blackburn - the players, the coaching staff, the chairman are all great people - and I owe them a lot - a hell of a lot to be honest.
"They helped me improve and they were there at an awkward time for me, but I've spoken to a lot of the players and they know the situation.
"I've had no problem from any player at Blackburn and I'm sure if any of them got the chance to join the team they love with all their heart, they'd do exactly the same thing.
"It's sad in a way to leave Blackburn, but this is too good a chance to turn down."
It is believed Liverpool have paid in the region of £6 million for Bellamy, who has now commanded transfer fees in excess of £20 million during his career.
He moved to Blackburn last summer for £5 million after an unhappy conclusion to his Newcastle United days, which ended with a loan spell at Scottish giants Celtic.
Though Bellamy was troubled by injuries at Ewood Park, he managed 13 goals in 27 Premiership appearances and was a key figure in Rovers qualifying for the Uefa Cup.
skysports.com wrote:Ronaldo ready for Real switch
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has been quoted in the Spanish press as saying he is ready to leave Old Trafford to move to Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are currently in the process of finding a new president and the Portuguese World Cup winger says he will pursue a move to the Bernabeu if candidate Juan Miguel Villar Mir is elected as the chosen man.
Ronaldo is seen as a crucial cog in Sir Alex Ferguson's long term plans with The Red Devils, and his apparent decision to leave The Premiership will come as a shock after he penned a contract extension on November.
Currently in Germany preparing for a World Cup quarter final with England on Saturday, Ronaldo has now voiced his desire to bring an end to his time at Old Trafford as he closes in on his fourth season under Ferguson.
"I have told my agent I am prepared to leave. I want to do it in the best manner possible," Ronaldo is quoted as saying by Marca.
"I want to play for Real Madrid and dream of doing so.
"I have gone with Villar Mir's project because it is serious and follows correct procedures.
"They have explained to me their plans and the next step is they will talk to Manchester United to open negotiations.
"Other candidates wanted me to sign a document which is not legal. Villar Mir has promised me he will talk to the club and all we have done is talk through an agent."
Villar Mir has emerged as one of the front-runners for the Bernabeu's top job, and Ronaldo's declaration could well galvanise his campaign as all the hopefuls make their election pledges.
