Ben Wallace-Early Pick for Defensive Player of the Year?

Can Ben Wallave come up with anopther great season to claim his title as Defensive Player of the Year? Yes he can and this is the reason why.

Ben Wallace has shown great improvement over the past 3 years and playing in 2 NBA Finals. He has upped his rbounding, shot blocking and offensive ability. He has become a beast and a threat for possibly MVP with as much as he has improved. "He has donoe amazing in Training Camp and we are going to be looking into the post alot more now that Ben (Wallace) has improved his overall game.," said Pistons Head Coach Flip Saunders.

Now that Ben Wallace has developed into a better player, look for him to be on every All-Star Team for the rest of his career in the NBA. Also, look for the Pistons to lead the league this year and dominate on their way to another NBA Championship.

Now lets break down the roster of the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons made some big moves in Free Agency signing Dale Davis from Clemson University along with adding Guard, Maurice Evans who had played the last few years in a European League along with a short stint with the Sacramento Kings.

PISTONS BLAST SONICS ON OPENING NIGHT AT THE PALACE

DETROIT 103 V.S. SEATTLE 69

Image Image
Chauncey Billups celebrates after hitting a 3 Pointer at the buzzer at the end of the 1st Half | Rasheed Wallace throws down a dunk as The Palace erupts.

AUBURN HILLS, MI (AP) - On Opening Night at the Palace, the Detroit Pistons wanted to make a statement to the league that we should have won the Championship last year. That is exactly what they did. No one even guessed that the Final Score would end up the way it did.

At the begining of the game, the Pistons found themselves in a little whole trying to dig themselves out. The Pistons rallied back with a 15-6 run and confortably had a 10 point lead towards the end of the 1st Quarter.

The 2nd Quarter wasn't much of a different story dominating the Sonics and stopping them on offense and stepping all over them on Defense. The only thing that kept the Sonics from getting blown out of the building in the 1st Half. At halftime, the Pistons had a very confortable lead with the score 53-35.

The 3rd Quarter was the exact same story as the 2nd Quarter as the Pistons Beat up on the Sonics 24-15 in the quarter while Chauncey Billups contributed 11 of his 26 points in the quarter. The Pistons just man handles the Sonics and ripped them apart in both the 3rd and 4th Quarters. Ray Allen still came up with a good performance dumping in 33 points followed by the Pistons' own Chauncey Billups who had 26 points.

Hey I though Why not take my "Defenders" name and put it to "Of The Palace" I thought it was fitting sooo......I didnt mean to copy him in anyway possible. Also I did not mean to say it was the Official Detroit Pistons Dynasty. Can't I just have a little fun with my Dynasty? lol Well thanks for the feedback. There will be pictures added very soon!

PISTONS SUFFER 1ST LOSS OF SEASON

PHEONIX 88, DETROIT 81

Image
The only real advantage the Pistons had was the Opening Tip-Off of the game.

AUBURN HILLS, MI - (AP) - Last night, the Detroit Pistons were looking to make a statement that they would be the next NBA Champions. At the beginning of the game, it was quite different. Pheonix opened the game on a 12-0 lead because of the their blazing offense. Flip Saunder quickly called a timeout to relax his guys and told them to just go out and play hard. When they came out of the timeout, the Pistons made a run of their own scoring 12 straight points. By the end of the 1st Quarter, the Pistons had were still down, 24-18, but within striking distance.

In the 2nd Quarter, the Pistons defense dominated holding Pheonix to no Offensive Rebounds. Chauncey Billups got into the swing of the things scoring 12 of his 35 points. Ben Wallace also picked up a few fouls leading to him to sit the bench for the rest of the 2nd Quarter, allowing Antonio McDyess to get help the cause a little bit. His little bit really helped the Piston drawing them within 1 point at one point but Detroit still found themselves down 8 at Halftime.

The 2nd Half wasn't much different. Pheonix was all over the court grabbing rebounds, forcing turnovers, and controlling the overall tempo. But, the Pistons showed signs of coming back by holding them to only 20 points for the 3rd Quarter. Now it was time for Chauncey to prove his nickname.

In the 4th Quarter, a amazing comeback lead by Chauncey Billups blasted the whole Pheonix Suns team by suprize. Chauncey had led the Pistons back pulling them ahead by 1 point with 1:53, but the could not close out the game which led to their first loss of the season.
