John "Earthquake" Tenta passed away this morning at the age of 42 after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer. Tenta is survived by his wife and three kids.
--WWE tinkered with the idea of feuding the Freakin' Deacon (current fake Kane) with Kane last year, but evidently, felt he wasn't ready for the big leagues at the time.
--Randy Orton wasn't scheduled to return until next week. WWE officials brought him back because they thought they needed someone like him on the upcoming ECW PPV. This move upset quite a few people. According to several workers backstage, Orton came off as the exact same person that he was before and that there was no improvement in his personality while he was away. Some say he is even worse than he was before seeing how he now has it in his head that he's so important and thus WWE brought him back early from his "vacation."
--TNAwrestling.com has added a new update regarding the upcoming TNA video game by Midway Games. As of June 1, production for the new game has started and Midway will be meeting with both AJ Styles and Samoa Joe to brainstorm ideas about gameplay. This was described as a big deal for Styles and Joe as both are avid gamers. Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles are also scheduled to travel to Midway's studio in Los Angeles to start work on the motion capture stage of the game. Jarrett and Styles will be fitted with hundreds of digital sensors and will be the first characters created for the game. TNA intends on posting screenshots of the game as they become available from Midway.
--There has been talk that the Smackdown vs Raw 07 video game which will be relased in November on PS2, PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360 may be retitled WWE vs ECW 07.
--Mike Johnson reports that David Heath aka Gangrel was contacted last week by the
WWE and will likely be re-signed soon for the ECW brand.
--As noted last night, Jerry Lawler and Tazz both worked stiff at the WWE vs. ECW special. The two knew they had to work stiff due to the cameras being right on them up close.
--Vince McMahon was on headsets in the back and feeding the announcers lines to use against each other, and also encouraging the verbal jousting.
--The Terry Funk punches to Mick Foley were 100% legit and Foley was busted the hard way. Believe it or not, Foley actually told Funk to blast him in the face the hard way.
