I think we haven't had any topics similiar to this, correct me if I'm wrong, so I wanted to disscus it on a most proper way possible (no lesbian pr0n talks etc ).

We all know what are homosexuals and how most of the look like, how most of them behave... Homosexuality is hormonic disorder, young people might don't know, which gives extra men hormons to women and vice versa. I didn't know that until couple of years ago, and before that I was convinced that homosexuals selected that kind of "life" . The minorty part is ashamed, I guess, and don't want rest of the community to discriminate them.

Some smart man said: There are three kind of homosexuals:

1. People who want to make a world movement of that, a way of life, making gay parades, being way to much proud... They want marriage, children...
2. People who are aware of being gay, yet not proud of it, they will have partners here and there and that's it.
3. People who are ashamed, they don't want anyone to know and who will never have partner and children, and maybe will try to be with an opposite sex.

I've read that some countries allow gay marriages, allow those couples to addopt children etc. personaly, I don't mind homosexuals as far as they're quiet and don't make stupid parades with showing they ugly asses of.

So, is anyone of your friends gay, or maybe any of you members (yea, no one will ban you if you say ), and generaly, what's your oppinion about it?

Donatello, unless you assume everyone here are immature and can't make an intelligent contribution or if you're #3 on the homosexual list, please don't try to ruin a discussion thread.

That being said, I'm not gay or have any gay friends (though my ex-gf became a lesbian, but that's another story), but I believe they deserve the same rights as heterosexuals get. I don't care about the gay rallies and parades they hold, they're just voicing their rights and as long as I'm not there, I don't care. Their business is not mine, and they're not harming anyone except for religious fanatics (who are doing more harm to themselves, ha).

The three types of homosexuals are what I commonly hear about. There are many, many men who get married, have kids, but still repress their homosexuality. I hear about it in my class, and it's tough for someone who is wired to a certain sexuality to try to change themselves.

Sure, it's a discussion thread, but it's one on a VERY touchy subject. I don't believe we should harbor intolerance, prejudice, and bashing of ANYONE for their beliefs/lifestyles, and this thread will contain much of that indeed, if it is allowed to exist.

I didn't say everyone is immature, but I'm sure not many would disagree with me that a substantial portion are.

My involvement in this thread is ended unless someone specifically points me back to it. If it continues, I hope that I am wrong and you are able to have an intelligent, mature discussion about it.... even if I don't understand why you'd want to discuss it in the first place except to express intolerance or argue with those who do. <shrug>

l.passo created this thread with his thoughts all in a mature manner, and his expectations are people who would contribute in a mature manner. It's a touchy subject, yes, but what good is a discussion without a touchy subject? We have political and religious debates here often, and it shouldn't rule out this one. You can't be quick to say that this thread will be full of bashing and intolerance if there's people like myself who would put in their opinions. Even if this thread is full of bashing and intolerance, my point is, we should be given a chance to discuss something without being deprived of that opportunity.

Homosexuality isn't a subject that means "I hate fags," but a shitload of issues that can pop up: gay rights, the violence homosexuals go through, whether it should be accepted in society or not, whether homosexuality is genetic or social, etc. There's way more that can be contributed in this thread, so don't be quick to rule out a thread because of the sole expectation of gay-bashing.

That said, I'm all for Gay rights. It's not a "lifestyle" they choose to live -- they don't choose for their dick to go up when they're turned on by another man. It's not a crime when you're born that way, and therefore, you should not be punished.

The underlying aspect of marriage is love, and if two people love each other, be it a man and a woman, two men, or two women, they should be granted the right to get married. I mean, how does gay marriage affect your life? It doesn't.

And I'm not annoyed by those who are flamboyant -- that's just them being them. It's the same thing as a girl, except you aren't going to hit on them.

Sins are choices you make, and homosexuality does not fall in that category.

People I do hate, however, are those who go out of their way to protest against gay marriage...sad..

i got one friend who came out of the closet right after high school. throughout high school, he was kind of suspect in a sense that he had a gay vibe going with him - girly laughs, awkward hand gestures, the "look". anyways, when he came out it was still a surprise. it was a smart move on his part though to come out after high school because he would've gotten hell for it if he revealed it sooner. apparently he was gay since 9th grade, and his girlfriend THEN didn't understand why he broke up with her since everything was going good. regardless, my opinion of him doesn't change. he's still the same guy. we weren't that close to begin with, just acquintances i guess -- we saw each other here and there.

ultimately, i don't care if you're gay or not. if you like men, that's cool. just don't parade the streets in a pink thong preaching about how you love the cock.

Like Cyriel, I'm a bit of a homophobe especially to strangers I suspect of being one. I'm not the homo-hating type, more like the type that uses jokes to bash them (in a non-offensive way). But once I get to know the person better I'm ok with their "gayness". I have a gay classmate, and even a gay former prof who tried to hit on me once but I don't harbor malice toward him, I understand he has needs but unfortunately I dont' swing his way. I still initiate on greeting him whenever we cross paths and sometimes joke about his outfit/attire, seeming how gays are somewhat conscious with that. It's fine by me mingling with that gay professor because I know he's not the type that uses his position to take advantage of persons that he has his eye on, that may even be the reason why he's respected by a lot of people, and hated by guys who think they can "bribe" him for a an easy good grade.

What a stupid thing to say. Gay people are the most discriminated against Americans in this country right now, just like African Americans were prior to the civil rights movement. Should they have not been allowed to march in parades demanding their rights?

As strange as it is I am happily married (at 20 yrs old) and have quite a few homosexual friends, granted I mainly know them through my wife with just a couple I have met by chance. It is not to say all my friends are gay but I dont discriminate and as long as there is respect coming from both parties then I see no reason not to be cool with them. I have never gone to any gay rallies or anything but I am not overly grossed out by them nor do I think they should be banned or anything. I always joke with my gay friends about their gayness (happy little people) because its funny, and they know I dont mean it in any mean way. They tease me about my blackness, and how I love fried food and smoke weed all day (according to them) so its no prob. Stereotyping in fun in some cases eh. Oh well.
