Snakes On A Mazz wrote:I might see X3 because the new trailer for Snakes On A Plane is supposed to play before it.

That's the only reason I would ever see it.

Snakes on a plane played before X3...it was really confusing. The trailer went "ALL THE OTHER SUMMER MOVIES HAVE THIS BLAH BLAH BLAH but we promise you they wont' have this...snakes [pause] on a plane" , and then immediately I thought of Mazz. The excerpt was pretty obscure , they just had some guy who looked like Samuel L. Jackson yell "BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS" and the preview ended.

*THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

X3 may be the only movie I see this summer but there is no question it is the best. The movie had humorous dialogue , a thrilling plot with several twists (a few key characters "died" but how do we know they are dead if we never see their bodies? They just vaporize into thin air...must be a family-friendly death ;) ) , and as always , exceptional special effects.

I am not that big of an X-men fan so I was unfamiliar with some of the characters. I did however , recognize "Wingman" and "Juggernaut". Juggernaut in particular had a very hilarious quote which was verbatim from the flash movie :
"Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut , Bitch!"

A final comment on the film : when you see this film and view all that has happened , it will be hard to believe they can make an X4. I heard before this that X3 would probably be the last of the movies , and I don't see how they can make another if one of the characters is "dead". Regardless , X3 can easily be argued as the best in the trilogy because of the events that occur in this film.

BTW I like the sig even though I may not condone it. (y)

He's Angel, not Wingman. ;)

I just got back from seeing the movie. Very, very good. They did perfect with Phoenix. Very scary... and admittedly sexy.

The only part that stuck out as.... bad.... was when Magneto 'picks up' the bridge, it's daylight, then puts it down... it's pitch black. Pretty quick sunset. :?

STAY AFTER THE CREDITS. Extra scene.

yeah the extra scene was tight.

X3 was a good movie, but I don't like what they did with the story. Definitely not what I expected and I wasn't too happy about that. They totally set it up for a Wolverine spinoff series. GAH.
I don't think they went far enough into Phoenix & Angel's characters so people didn't really know what they were about unless they are familiar with the X-Men storylines. THey focused on some characters more than others.

*SPOILER*

and I don't like how they "cured" mutants. that's so stupid. the whole point of X-men was that they were different, so when mutants got cured, there's really no point to the story.

The second the credits started rolling I left the theater so I missed out on the extra scene.

I was wondering about the bridge thing but after all it's a movie. Maybe they stopped to have dinner. I was more worried about the man in a bra , what kind of costume is that?

But the last scene with Magneto hints that the "cure" might not be permanent.

I was pleasantly surprised - the movie was better than I expected from Ratner. I didn't like the way they changed some of the characters(Juggernaut is Xavier's step-brother and he should have been Hulk-size), but I give it three stars.

Yeah I noticed Xavier didn't acknowledge Juggernaut at Jean's house...

and pretty sure it was a woman in the bra, but then again it was hard to tell.

I just saw it, Juggernaut was a terrible character. They did a good job with Jean but didn't go into it enough, and wtf @ Cyclops :? it was funny watching all of the people walk out before the extra scene, part of me wanted to tell them to sit down but I didn't care enough.

I just watched "He Got Game" on Fox. It had a pretty good idea, but I think they sort of had a corny ending and although I do like the plot ideas for the movie, I don't think it was executed as effectively. I still would have liked there to be a little more basketball action though.

Still watchable for me because Ray Allen wasn't as bad of an actor as I expected and I think Denzel Washington is a top notch actor.

I just watched American History X. It's a very good movie in my opinion. The only thing I don't like was how close together everything ran. It was hard to believe all of the main events happened in a day. But I guess with all the flashbacks it made it alright.

And that black guy in the very first and last scene (I won't give away the ending) looked exactly like bhzmafia.

I saw X3 last friday also. It was a good movie..but bad ender for the movie franchise. It left us hanging..with so much more that can be done. They killed off too many characters needlessly. I understand that they were going for the dramatic..but im a fanboy..i want something similar to the comic. Juggernaut was just a friggin mutant drone for magneto...one of my fav marvel characters! dammit!

It's not the end, X-Men 4 has been confirmed.

Edit: Hmm, for whatever reason I'm not convinced now.

I looked up the cast but I can't find a pic of him or his name.

Edit: Watch this.

Look 40 seconds into the movie.

I smell Apocalypse.
A lot of mutants died in X3, Apocalypse might revive them and choose his Horsemen among his new revived followers.

yeah I talked to this lady at work today who worked on the computer graphics for the X-men 3 movie (she was buying X men 2... she had never seen it  ) but I had mentioned they're probably doing a wolverine spinoff and she confirmed that AND a Magneto spinoff too.

The one being shown now is a remake.
The Omen is a classic, imo. (Y)
The sequel/s? of the original Omen just sucked badly.

This may be a bit late but I just saw The Aviator. I'm impressed with Leo's acting, he's definitely better than samurai-wannabe, show-me-the-money Tom Cruise.
Just an observation, Leo's last two acclaimed films, The Aviator and Catch Me if You can, are related to airplanes.

Saw a trailer for Fast and The Furious (3): Tokyo Drift
Is it just me or are the racing cars the real stars of the film franchise?

Yeah they are, and even then it's not that interesting. I mean this whole "drifting" thing, who gives a shit? You can make your car skid around a corner, whoopdie fucking doo. It looks rubbish so I won't watch it, I've seen the ads for it like 6 times.

the skidding reminds me of Mario Kart lol

i'll probably rent the original Omen sooner then later

which reminds me- in the last few years- Have there been any good remakes?

Seems like it's been the trendy thing to do in hollywod but from the top of my head i can't think of one really good remake. Batman Begins doesn't count...
