Jihad! Jihad in.. Burger King?

Postby peaches on Sun May 28, 2006 4:53 pm

 ...Wow.

LINK

Rashad Akhtar, a twenty-seven-year-old British Muslim, who alleges that the graphic used on the lid of Burger King ice-cream cones resembles the Arabic spelling of “Allah.”

It does have a strong 'semblance so I kinda see what he's arguing about. Then again I know nothing about their religious beliefs so I cant pass much judgement.

I found this funny.

The Burger King logo is there in Arabic. “Allah” is spelled exactly how it is there, and the Burger King logo is where the ominah should be. Why, there is no way it could be a coincidence. How can you say it is a spinning swirl? How does it spin on something that is static? You cannot spin it around unless you have a mechanical device. You spin it one direction, to the right, and it is offending a billion people.

 Its a mutherfucking ice cream cone.

Theres some better quotes peachy:
I was thinking of my stomach. I was hungry. I would have loved to eat an ice cream. When I saw it, my mouth fell open. I dropped the ice cream. I canceled my order. That was the defining moment of my life.

Dropping an ice cream was the defining moment in his life?.

A spinning swirl is the way the comes out of the machine, not an actual "magical" spinning swirl. This guy is Jackal combined with Legend
I’m not talking about Muslims in the Park Royal vicinity, or in the U.K. I’m talking about globally. Everyone who sees this is going to be offended.I am going to try my best in life, so that these people do not operate in a single Muslim country again, so that we get an apology to every single Muslim on this planet in their language, in their country, on a national TV station: “Sorry. We, as an American company, are sorry. We didn’t mean to offend you.”

This is gold :proud:

What angers me most is that most people, once they have finished with it, they look at it and say, “Nice cone. Nice design. Nice cone design.” They chuck it away. That is disrespectful. Don’t throw it away. Keep it as evidence. A reminder of what these people are doing every single day of our lives.

Making ice creams?
We showed this to Muslim customers in Burger King and they were disgusted. We went to the manager. “Is this true?” we asked. He said, “Yes, my brother. It is true.” I spoke to two other Pakistani Muslim guys there and they said, “We are sickened.” They were cussing Burger King.

Lol its true they have a logo of ice cream on a package. OMG!!
I feel humiliated. I want to humiliate the person who did this to an extent that he never works again. I’m going to make him see that it was the biggest mistake in his life. I want to meet the guy. I want to ask the guy, “What does this mean to you?” then never see his face again.

Actually, make this guy a Homor/ Legend/ Jackal.
In a way, I’m glad he did this to me. It has opened my eyes. The fear of God, the love of God, the love of not letting anyone disrespect God. Even though it means nothing to some people and may mean nothing to some Muslims in this country, this is my jihad. I’m not going to rest until I find the person who is responsible. I’m going to bring this country down.

Lol, its an ice cream. I'm suprised they dont want to kill the cow who produced the milk.

Burger King is a piece of shit. I worked there for 3 months or so and I quit.

Anyways, I hope they keep the symbol and don't apologize. Muslims are bitches. Or, let me be politically correct, some Muslims are bitches.

This is what I really find annoying, how they focus so hard these days on stories of idiotic muslims. Leave them be, their is already enough hate going around for them and its been a bitch for the really good and down to earth Muslims.

This guy is a total nutjob to start up this whole drama and is only adding to the bad view that people give when they talk about the Islamic faith and Muslim people as a whole. I have quite a few muslim friends, some of middle eastern descent and blacks who've converted to Islam. Whilst people of color have always been subject to prejudice and racism some stage in their life I am really disgusted at the way people go around these days all out trying to make a muslims boys or girls life a living hell even though they could be as Patriotic as Riot is. Even I've never seen such prejudice towards me cause of my racial background as some of my friends have been getting and trust me these guys are as patriotic as you get infact I sometimes question their views on Bush, our people and the full circle.

I'm going to start a campaign in the name of God against the English language because the lower-case t looks like the cross. It's offensive to all Christians world-wide and needs to be dealt with.

I remember back when I saw this in September.

Islam is treated with such a double standard. (Just look how quickly people rush to defend Muslims against how they may be portrayed from their actions or if they're offended over something stupid...yet such things are encouraged against christians and jews.) It's because the racist Left is afraid of Islam.

Even though there is a slight resemblance, its nothing worth bitching about.

People always nitpick at little things and overexaggerate it.

Thats true, but peoples religous beliefs are becoming a joke these days to the endless line of low life comedians (where the Mr.Bean's at?) who are only making things worse, first they insult Bush and gather hate among our people for him and then they insult people of various religions and get people to downcast certain religions. I guess you really cant stop it (freedom of speech blah blah blah) but me as a person Im not too fond of any type of religous stereo typing may it be a jew, muslim, buddhist, hindu, RC or Christian the only time I would argue about beliefs would be if people go around worshipping people like Diego Maradonna or Dennis Rodman.

While racism is still very much out there I think the biggest prejudice people face these days is their religous background or belief, soon we'll have redneck cuss words like Nigger and Chink that are used by ignorant people to install fear, hate and 'give back get back' prejudice to people all around the world. If Global Warming doesnt get us then religous and race driven war fare will.
