I 've seen your previews (i've not downloaded your new versions but i'm going to do it :cool: ) and i've detected a small problem.
I don't want to be arrogant but I believe that your work on the pictures runs fine with low textures but with medium or/and high textures i'm not sure of it.
I don't know how you work on the pictures, the mixtures and the edition of mouths, eyes, etc.
Probably I should not say anything :oops: but you also can write to me and we can change points of view about this :) .
I don't want to be a nuisance :evil: because your work is incredible and we need more patchmakers.

i'm not cuban by the way. my name is James but everyone here calls me JC. My patches are made for low textures and medium textures but they also work for high textures. for my earliest patches, my patches only had faces for low textures and that caused my game and probably many other peoples games to crash. i have fixed the problem and it works for all textures now. however, on the Highest texture, the quality of the picture is not that good and i am too lazy to fix that.

How DO :? you work on the pictures? (PSP, Photoshop, resampling process, mouth and eyes position edition...)
I need to know it to help you if you have any problem (we need to make our BMP/JEPG file using only High textures and 512x448 format; then you can use the "import wizard" option for the three textures; if you don't make this, the quality of the patches is poor).
I send to you captures from my next works by e-mail and you can also read my tutorial (Remember: only work with 512x448 JEPGs! :wink: )

I use photoshop and use various tools like blur, smudge, and pencil to fix small details and then i use hue/saturation,contrast/brightness, and color balence to blend the face. then i use free transform to make the face fit perfectly and i save it. then i import the face into the game. face1 face2 and face.whenever i make the face, i start out with a picture this big. see the darko milicic example. then whenever i import, i just import the small picture onto face, face 1, and face 2. i test all these faces in the game and they all turn up really well. my older patches don't turn up too well. also, whenever i take screenshots, i paste them into the program paint. whenever i save JPG files using paint, the quality of the preview isn't that high. sometimes i save screenshots in photoshop but i make the mistake of not selecting a high enough quality for the previews. whenever i import it into face2, the quality of the face(not the preview) goes down because the image is being expanded too much. i have trouble making patches in face2 because the picture is too big for my computer and i have just gotten used to face2. all the patches look pretty good in the game unless you zoom really really close to the player. by the way, i run my game in software renderer mode because for some reason, the game runs 10 times slower in Direct 3D mode. i don't know why that happens because it used to run very fast when i first got the game.

thats my ricky paulding patch. it didn't look as good as i expected it to look so that is the final version of the patch. i left the FACE file in lowest format so if anyone wants to make changes to it, ask me about it and i will think about it and the head shape i used is adonal foyle's headshape.

this is not the best method. because when you import the small picture into fac2, it's very very pixellised.

Personnally, once i've finished the work with Photoshop, I save the file in the 3 formats : so that the high res is not pixellised at all.

thank you alex for the help. i will just save the small file in the highest quality setting and then import it into the .FSH file. however, sometimes, the file i create does have high quality before i import it but whenever i import it, the quality goes down drastically. why does this happen

Patchers, please; you must make the work using only 512x448 pixels BMP/JPG files. Then you can use the import "wizard option". If you don't make this process (and use the reverse process with the small format, 160x96 pixels) you face will be poor... :oops:
First, work on the pictures resampling very, very well. For example, the Dajuan Wagner's picture from my tutorial (hosted by Alex, remember) has 300x350 pixels :shock: , more or less (original picture from CNN has 100x160 pixels :shock: ). You can check this extracting the Fac2 files from my patches.

Check your e-mail and post your dudes here or by e-mail. I want to help you because we need patches but we need good patches for the three textures :wink: .

hey unoquepasa, my patches are good and the reason they appear to be low quality is because i take screenshots in software renderer mode and i play the game in 3d acceloration mode. if you have my newest patches, you could see that the quality is very good and not like the poor quality you see in my screenshots. my screenshots are low quality but my newest patches look very well in the game.
