Intelligent ways of picking the Awards

Postby TRUball on Fri Jul 04, 2003 2:06 am

I think there should be an more intelligent way of picking the awards, because sometimes the computer just makes dumb choices. Ok once for the 6th man award, this one guy averaged 4ppg, 2rpg and 1 apg, he won it. :? one of my players came off the bench and averaged 12ppg 4rpg and 5 apg and he never won it. And for the MVP, this player on another team averaged 26 ppg, 8 rpg, 8 apg, plus 1.5 block and 1.5 steal, my player averaged 31 ppgs, like 3 rpg, and 2 apg, and less than 1 for blocks and steals and my guy one it, it was nice because it was my guy the the other guy should of got it. and for ROY, my rookie averaged 20, 4 rpg, 7 apg and this one guy had 10 ppg 5 rpg and won it. I would really like a more intelligent way of choosing the year-end awards. :x

well if you see my posts (11, 12 with this one) i am pretty new so, ya, but i saw it in some discussions, but they were in the middle of them and i didn't want to change the subject because they were talking about something else so ya, but i think ea should find someway to have better awards giving out, oh and maybe even add an award cemony in the beginning of playoffs games like they do in the nba, but instead of doing each individul one do them all in one. just an idea

i'd like to see some awards that aren't in the NBA like a hustle award where the league leader in rebounds etc..

I also had that problem(bad players for awards.) Alot of times the MVP will win most improved and if he doesnt som freeagent who played 1 game and scored 3 points will win. Also-until i released him to FreeAgency-Jamie Feick for the nets would win every time. That really pisses me off.

I had Iverson win the MVP scoring 30 a game, 5 assists, 2 steals and 3 boards on a team that didn't make the playoffs. While I (created me, PG) had 27, 11 assists, 3 steals and 4 boards on the team that won the championship.

The MVP trophy has propably been the most reliable trophy in the game. Other is the defensive player, but the sixth man, most improved and rookie awards are given out at random...

It needs to be fixed. It's a wonder that they give the championship trophy to the right team...

they don't sometimes!! seriously, well in live 2001, i was playing franchise and i was the wizards, i won the championship 2 years in a row and i went to team progression or something like that and it said the second year i was elimited from teh playoffs in the first round and i won the title that year, i was pissed, but whatever, i thin it was only a glitch or something because that was the only time that happened to me.

That was a bug in NBA Live 2001, one that I fortunately never encountered. Like the overtime bug in NBA Live 2001/2002, it didn't always occur.

yea they should do a betta job wit the awards... bcause sometimes they would pick an mvp on a team that didnt make the playoffs....... obviously if the team didnt make teh playoffs... he's not the most valuable player

Unless you have a crap team. Like surround C-Webb with heaps of crap players his game may flourish (or fail) and he could be MVP;)
