I'm predicting a win for the Suns at home... their offense always seems to be better there.

Kurt Thomas might be available for spot appearances for tomorrow's game... believe I heard it on NBA Fastbreak last night. I'll look for an article on it, he was supposed to play in a 5 on 5 scrimmage today...

If so , he'll be a huge lift for the Suns. Down the stretch if they need stops, he could be good for some rebounding and some low post defense... too bad he couldn't have came back earlier.

i honestly dont think the clippers road has been as hard as people seem to make it out. right now they are playing a team with little to no inside game what so ever and thier big men are just eating it up. they have a good team and i feel the 2 mathups they have had so far has been in thier favor. thats why i actually believe they will win game 7 but get stomped by either dallas or the spurs(go dallas) in the conference finals

i'm going for the suns because of home court. agreed, san anton or dallas will probably decimate either one (go spurs!)

He'll probably be a typical postseason return case. Heavily anticipated comeback and then a player who hobbles up and down the court the whole game. If the Suns advance he may get back in sync but typically comeback players aren't major factors.

True, but he doesn't need to play well to be helpful. The Suns just need some size.

He's 6 fouls, so he could very well be helpful.

He should be careful though. Not like Amare, the one game wonder.

But if he's able to come back and make an impact the Clippers' inside threat is somewhat diminished.

I'm rooting for the underdogs here. Second best season in franchise history, they deserve to carry it far.

I stopped rooting for underdogs all the time. If management is too stingy with their money to put out a competitive team, I have no sympathy.

That said, I usually do root for the Clips. Brand is a class act. Just not this time.

Come on Suns!!!

What im really posting for is, i was just browsing Draftexpress.com and they have Jordan Farmar going at number 21 to the Suns (Team needs taken into account). Now as far as i know, Farmar is just testing the waters (?), but if hes projected to the Suns, and they are legitimatley (sp?) talking about drafting him when the time comes, i think he has to come out.. Steve Nash is the perfect guy for this kid to learn off, natural playmaker, pass first player. Who better to learn of than the back to back MVP? I for one hope we get this kid with our 21st, and then Hilton Armstrong drops to our 26th (26th?) pick. These two, along with Amare back and Thomas resigned, will make our team unbelievably deep, and surely a strong favourite for Champs in '07.

Edit: Just looked at Armstrong, hes projected to go at 18, so thats highly unlikely he'll drop to 26. However they have Michigan State's Paul Davis as our 26th pick, which i suppose im still happy with, hes 6'11" and from what ive heard a pretty good player.

Possible 07 Line Up?
C: Amare/Diaw, Kurt
PF: Marion/Amare, Davis, Grant
SF: Diaw/Marion, Thomas
SG: Raja, Barbosa, House
PG: Nashty, Farmar, Barbosa

Pretty fucking solid in my opinion.

Edit 2: Actually, i wouldnt mind James Augustine...But i dont really know about the big men outside the lottery..Colin, Axel and other Suns fans, who do you guys want out of the bigs??

Congraz to the Suns...

But do you really think this lineup is really that effective? I see them having trouble defensively...Let's wait, we'll see ;-)

good game. I wonder if steve nash has enough left for the rest of the playoffs though....

kind of ironic, but right now its looking like dallas is going to eliminate 2 of its former core (finley and nash). I don't care who wins that series, but I guess i'll root for the suns. phoenix in 7 looks like a safe bet these playoffs. :D

This years Suns team is much improved defensively. Despite the numerous double teams they have to commit to, they still can hang in there on that end of the court. If only they had Amare we would know how good of a defensive team they are. With Kurt Thomas coming back for the next series though, I'm expecting the Suns to be a lot better on defense and rebounding.

.... Suns in 6, since they don't have homecourt for a game 7

Edit:

@ Dean

I'm not sure who I would want the Suns to draft to be honest. I dont watch any college basketball at all... the only thing they need is a solid rebounder or a backup to Nash. With the need for big men in the league, I'd say that with the 21st pick they'd be better off drafting a PG, otherwise they'll likely get a big guy with no real talent.

I don't know how much of an impact Kurt will have on the Mavs series. Yeah the Mavs have some decent post players who can body up and rebound, but the big reason they play them is to match up with other teams bigs. I think each team figures they have a better chance at winning with a smaller line-up.

Yup. The only way the Suns are going to win this series is if they take Diop and Dampier out of the game. In the games the Clippers won, they killed us in rebounding. Dallas has even more size than Clippers, and they have the capability of playing 3 7-footers on the court at once (of course, they won't, because the Suns would tear them apart).

The only thing I'm really worried about is Steve Nash's conditioning. He's probably going to be guarding Devin Harris...how well can he play on the offensive side of the ball after having to keep up with Harris on defense?

I don't see how the Mavs could win with a small lineup... nobody has done well trying to play the Suns' style.

@ Dro

Dallas does have more size than the Clippers, but their size is less talented.

Well, I think Steve Nash will struggle defensively. It doesn't happen often that he has to guard guys who are as quick as him.

And I still don't understand why the Mavs should use a small-lineup. As one said before, play the Suns' style and you get your ass kicked, because they are nearly perfect in their style.

And one question, someone said it is sad that Amare isn't here, because then we could see what a good defense the Suns are really having. Sure? I don't think Amare is a monster at this side of the court right now. Sure he is not bad, but not that freaky good you are telling.

Still we don't have any inside force at all which means we can never play big guys like a Brand or Duncan one on one and always have to double team which is obviously going to screw your defense up.

the mavs need to abuse whoever is trying to guard dirk constantly. they have a series lack of big men so getting the few they have in foul trouble can kill the suns.

They'll most likely put Marion on him, since he is the Suns best defender. Getting him in foul trouble is a really huge plus for Dallas since he was one of the few Suns effective during the Clippers series.

Screw MVP stealing nash and the suns...mavs to the finals! This can go down as one of the highest scoring series in a long lowng time.

EDIT : damn...the mavs lost.

Suns win! I repeat, the Suns win! I'm lovin' it - Miami wins and then Phoenix caps this great day off with a win on the road. You all should've heard my reaction after the shot by Diaw there at the end - I think I woke up the neighbors with that one.
