I don't seem too suprised, but it sure as hell is a nice little thing that google has come up with there.

Edit: Fuck you, Remy.

I'd like to see you guys write in Pinoy, so lay off them, as stupid, as retarted, as George Bush-like as most of them act.

95% of that (graph) is because of you Jugs.
astig means hard. its actually tigas in backwards

It's not actually the word in backwards.
astig --> gitas?
tigas --> sagit?
It's more like a process of Filipino "pig Latin". All I know is that it was widely practiced during the 70's.

Basketball is the no. 1 sport here in the country. One could find makeshift basketball courts in every street and corner. For the reason as to why Filipinos are obsessed with basketball, I and most Filipino researchers who try to think about it, have no idea.

That's weird, you'd think with the sport being so popular there'd be a Pinoy player in the NBA in the last 15 years, or the national team would at least be decent... is there any particular reason this hasn't happened?

1) Pinoys are mostly short in height compared to the average basketball player.
2) Pinoys imitate American style of play, which is pointless when you consider #1.
3) Basketball politics is killing any hope of progress, thus the reason for the National Team.
4) We don't have a decent system to develop players, due in part to #2 and #3.
5) Most basketball authorities are still living in the past, reminiscing for the good old days during the 50's (when the Philippine Team made it into the Olympics in some occasions), whining how bad the situation is now instead of doing anything about it.
6) Players are prima donnas, related to #2. They are only concerned about the paycheck. The "stars" always demand a "win clause" in their contracts. If their team wins more than expected they get a bonus in pay. WTF is that about? They are hired to make their teams win yet they want a "win clause"? Assholes.
7) Closed-mindedness. Officials aren't that open to the latest developments for the game from outside sources. It's like a sick twisted way of "I can do it" and "appreciate your own" thinking. Linked to #3 and #5

I could give more reasons but that would tire me out.
