Official Wii thread

Postby Jugs on Thu May 18, 2006 8:20 pm

*to rival the PS3 thread*

I found this on some forum. http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=24958

Basically, blutetooth is the fo' shizzle in terms of non-cable use something something.

From this link: http://www.revolutionfanboy.com/2006/05 ... rt-design/

It shows the apparent box art of Wii.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=139871

Here's a game that apparently uses the remote control as a katana and you can swing and kill peoples!1!11

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii#Launch_details

Wiki being God, states that it'll be cheaper than xbob and ps3... this persuades me to buy one. Even though it doesn't have HD support or whatever, I don't own a HD tv :D

What are your thoughts, though I've seen quite a few thoughts, who will be buying one of these? Will you buy this a long with either the Xbob or PS3 just to try out that intriguing controller?

It requires a miracle for me to buy the new Nintendo. I'm so stuck with same sports game series so it doesn't really have anything appealing.

But I have to admit that the controller is something worth trying. I give them huuuge respect for that. It's always nice to see new thing come along (Y)

Red Steel is apparently the greatest thing game magazine writers have ever seen. Even if they all look like losers while playing it.

Or at least that's what they all say.

Have you seen the lines at E3? Have you seen all of the E3 coverage in Gamespot, 1up, or IGN? The consensus is that the Wii has "won" this year's E3. I think once people try out the controller and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Wii will sell well. It also helps that Zelda is a launch title.

Even the guy behind Xbox (I forget his name) recommended the Wii.
Also the fact that Xbox 360 cost + Wii cost will likely be under PS3's 600 or even 500 means that probably a lot of people will go with this option.
Bored.

i think people like the Wii because of the 'simple' gaming experince at a good price

I mean the 360 and PS3 cost an arm and a leg and you get so many extras that 60% of buyers wont even use.
And the gaming is just so high tech now that sony and microsoft miss the point of fun and entertaining gaming now days its all about the best graphics or biggest hard drive or whatever

But i believe the reason people will buy the Wii is that it is the console that is all about fun, and it costs about a quarter of the price of the 360 and the PS3 and the games arent that bad either 8-)

  what Super Happy Fanboy Wii website did you see that at?

http://games.ign.com/articles/709/709355p1.html

IGN's E3 awards, the Wee won 3 out of about 20 awards. 2 of them were for the controller and some peripheral thing. Yeah, definitely "won" that one.

Have you seen the pics? All most everytime people are standing. For example if I wanted to play a fighting game I would have to stand on my feet and do some shity movements.I would rather get myself in a real fight and beat the shit of somebody. The
point in gameing isn't standing up its siting on a chair or a bed or something and enyoying the game you play.Who cares about the price,it only means that it can get busted faster then a PS3 or 360.And who in there right mind won't buy a thing named wii it just sounds gay.
