Basically, there are some people who are anti penny, they claim it's useless, and it costs more then it's worth (which is wrong, since the US mint makes 24mill a year on pennies)
Anyway, they propose a rounding tax and the abolishment of the penny. Basically, the rounding tax works, by..well...rounding. (If it comes out to 18.52, you roun down and pay 18.50, if it's 18.57, you round up and pay 18.60)
Any thoughts?

Here in Australia we got rid of our 1 and 2 cent pieces as long time ago, so our prices are rounded off when it comes time to pay - unless of course it's an electronic form of payment. Doesn't seem to be such a bad system, rounding prices to the nearest five cents - it makes both paying for an item with cash and giving appropriate change somewhat easier.
