Los Angeles *(ticker) – The Lakers hosted the Golden State Warriors and Baron Davis looking to open thier season with a victory.

Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 37 points while also dishing out 5 assists and pulling in 8 rebounds for the Lakers. Chris Mihm and Smush Parker had solid games with Mihm tallying 19 points, 7 boards and 2 blocks and Parker had 16 points and 8 assists. Devan George had 12 points off the bench in 15 minutes.

Baron Davis led the Warriors with 25 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Jason Richardson added 21 points and 4 assists but it was not enough as the Warriors fell to LA 102-112.

Los Angeles *(ticker) – The Lakers traveled to Texas to face off against the high scoring Dallas Mavericks and Dirk Nowitzki.

The Lakers led by 3 at half time but Dallas came back strong in the 3rd Qrt and took the game 88-83. Nowitzki had 21 points and 4 rebounds for Dallas but the real star for the Mav’s was PG Jason Terry who had 25 points and 7 assists.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 21 points, 7 assists and 9 rebounds and Smush Parker added 19 points and 4 assists. The Lakers got only 5 points from their bench the entire game and this is something that GM Mitch Kupchak is looking to upgrade.

Los Angeles *(ticker) – The Lakers have today pulled the trigger on 2 trades that will help strengthen their bench.

The first trade sends PG Aaron McKie, G/F Laron Profit and SF Luke Walton to Minnesota for G/F Ricky Davis and G/F Ronald Dupree. Dupree has been offered to the Milwaukee Bucks for C Dan Gradzuric.

The second trade sends G/F Devan George to the Golden State Warriors for G/F Mickael Pietrus.

The Lakers had all starters in double figure with Kobe Bryant leading the way with 34 points and 10 assists, Ricky Davis, Smush Parker and Lamar Odom all had 23 points and Davis added 8 rebounds in his LA debut. Kwame Brown former #1 overall pick by Washington had a strong game with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
