This one calls for a big summary!

Image Detroit Pistons 117

@ Image Golden State Warriors 118 (OT)

Pistons beat by last-second shot

Summary: Golden State(12-8) never gave up, and it prevailed for them in the long run. Down by 9 at halftime, they fought back in the 4th by getting quick shots, and fouling, knowing of the Pistons free throw troubles. However, Baron Davis fouled out in the 4th, and the Warriors thought if this game went in to OT, their chance to win would be narrowed.

With 8 seconds left and the Pistons up by 3, the Warriors got the ball around to Mike Dunleavy, who buried a tightly contested three with 1.3 seconds left, and Lindsey Hunter missed a buzzer-beating shot, and the game continued. Overtime ended in a strangely familiar way, but with different players

The Pistons(13-3) even built a 5-point lead in OT, but, as the rest of the game went, they didn't hold on to it, as they led by only 1 with 57 seconds left. It was still a 1-point game with 30 seconds left, and Rip Hamilton tried to milk the clock and make a shot with little time left, but he missed the shot, allowing the Warriors to run the floor and, ironically, have Derek Fisher hit a tightly contested shot with, ironically, 1.3 seconds left, and Rip Hamilton, ironically, missed a buzzer-beating 3 to win it, and the Wariors won in a thriller.

Pistons stats: Shawn Marion continued his torrid start as a Piston, leading all scorers with 33 points. Backup PG Horace Jenkins came off the bench to score 26, and Lindsey Hunter, filling in nicely for the injured Chauncey Billups, added 20.

Warriors stats: Despite fouling out, Baron Davis led the Warriors with 30 points, and Derek Fisher added 24, Mike Dunleavy scored 17 points, and Troy Murphy grabbed 18 rebounds. Jason Richardson was held to only 12 points.

Pistons build big lead early, hold off late rally

Summary: Down by 16 at halftime, Utah(8-13) needed a big 2nd half to propel them to victory. They outscored the Pistons 52-44 in the 2nd half, but it wasn't enough as Detroit(15-3) continued their hot start.

Pistons stats: Rasheed Wallace had a big day, scoring 31 points and grabbing 13 boards. Shawn Marion had another double-double(12 points, 11 boards), and Lindsey Hunter had 22 points.

Pistons come away with win in nail-biter

Summary: The game was close all day, with the biggest lead being 9 points by Detroit(17-3). Chicago(11-12) lost in a heartbreaker.

With the score tied, Chauncey Billups missed a 3 with 2 seconds left. Rip Hamilton got the rebound and put up a potential game-winner, but he was hit, and no foul was called. The ball went out with 1 second left, and Ben Gordon hit a last-gasp 60-footer, but he didn't get it off in time.

In OT with 20 seconds left, Rasheed Wallace dunked it to give the Pistons a 116-114 lead. The Bulls missed a shot, and fouled Rip Hamilton, and he made one free throw to give the Pistons some insurance. Tyson Chandler missed a last-gasp 3 to seal the deal.

Pistons stats: Kevin Garnett had a great debut as a Piston, scoring 32 points and adding 10 rebounds. Chauncey Billups added 31 points, and Rasheed Wallace added 20 points and 9 boards.

Bulls stats: Kirk Hinrich managed to get 39 shots off against the Detroit defense, and finished with 33 points. Ben Gordon added 20 points, Eddy Curry had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Tyson Chandler added 13 boards. Jannero Pargo scored 14 points.

Well your right about the Matrix, but then again you're probably partial to any Suns-player-involving trade. =D Plus, KG's shooting is pretty well so far.

And no, Hassell pwns Darko, IMO.

Summary: The game was close for the last 3 quarters, and in the end, Detroit(20-3) pulled out a hard-fought win over Portland(10-14), who gave the Pistons a surprise in the first quarter.

The Blazers pulled out to a 20-8 lead in the first, but Detroit regrouped and made it 26-19 at the end of the quarter. In the second, they battled back to tie it at halftime. At the end of the 3rd the Blazers led by three.

Detroit jumped to a 6-point lead in the fourth, and it was a 4-point lead with 35 seconds left. Martell Webster hit a three with 26 seconds on the clock. Chancey Billups drove down the court and was fouled, and he hit one free throw with 20 seconds left. Portland drove back down, and Travis Outlaw hit a jumper to tie the game with 8.8 seconds left, but Detroit was not done yet. Quickly getting the ball down the floor, Chauncey Billups hit a fadeaway 2 with 1.9 seconds left. Theo Ratliff missed a last-gasp midcourt shot, and that sealed the deal at the Palace.
