NBA Trading Cards Thread

Postby Blasphemy on Mon Apr 17, 2006 6:04 am

Well I didnt see a thread out basketball cards so I decided to start one. Just talk about your cards or ones you want. Maybe you can even trade online with other NLSC members.

Well I started collecting NBA cards a couple of months ago and have around 500 maybe a little more. I have probly 250 cards from this year and last eyar and like 350-450 from 10-15 years ago. My best cards that I have are a Michael Finley and Jamaal Tinsley Jersey card. But I also have a rookie game used ball card which I bought for 23.00 dollars. I have like 25 rookie cards maybe some more but not perfectly sure. My best one is Andrew Bogut (Jae's Jealous  ) and I have like other good ones like Marvin Williams, Hakim Warrick etc.

So what do you guys have?

I have a couple thousand, sorted by team. Magic, Kobe, Nique, Jordan (baseball too), 32 Lebron rookies, Carmelo rookie, I don't think I have a DWade yet surprisingly, but I haven't bought cards in a long time.

I have an autographed Emmitt Smith (NFL, real ink) though.

yea, I bought them all in a pack. Well it's like 34 because I've got a couple randomly in card packs. But they were in a box for $40 so I figured I'm the one benefitting here.

Thats what I thought 5 years ago when I collected yugioh cards. Those pieces of useless shit are still in my fucking closet rotting. Nobody wants to buy em. Nobody on ebay even.

But sports cards can be worth something.

Lol I dont have many basketball cards, just some random ones my neighbour gave me when she left to live in QLD.

Anyways, yeah I got some rare ones too, like a gold shiny Byron Houston signed card. Who the hell is Byron Houston?

They sell cards here in Geelong but I don't wanna buy any.

Edit: I think I've lost the Byron Houston card

I've probably got over a thousand, my cousin and I used to be avid collectors but we stopped around 1998 or 1999. Some of them have come in handy in patchmaking through the years, especially the retro roster patches.

Baketball cards are what introduced me to the NBA. (Y) I've got a stack of cards about 20-30 cm's high (not sure how many) all from the 90s. I've got some Jordan cards and other fancy cards that could probably be sold, too.

This is sort of unrelated, but i always thought it would be cool if NBA Live had a feature where you could create your own basketball cards from taking screenshots and get money/cap/dynasty points for them in Dynasty mode. (Y)

I'm sure I've got a Byron Houston card lying around somewhere....although it's not a shiny, signed one  I think Houston played for the Warriors in the early-to-mid 90s....could be wrong though, that's off the top of my head....

The signed card is of him playing in Seattle.

He was drafted by Chicago, played for Warriors for 2 season (92 and 93) then Seattle (94) then Sacramento (95) and then just left.

6foot5 small forward

Thats all I know about him.

I wouldn't have a clue, never saw him play

He was listed as a 6 foot 7 though in college and played PF. But probably because he was really 6 foot 5, he was most likely forced to play SF.
