Atlanta gets a new head honcho

Image
The Atlanta Hawks surprised everyone by hiring Sean Fitzpatrick, a relative unknown, as their GM.
Fitzpatrick said that this would be a great year for the Hawks, with a lot of trades to get the team ready for the play-offs.
That is right, folks. The Atlanta Hawks GM has garunteed the play-offs this year.

How their season will turn out, only time will tell.

One More Deal!

Image
The Atlanta Hawks upgraded their roster again today, trading Josh Childress to Detroit for Richard Hamilton.
"I am extremely happy to get Rip. He will be a great asset towards our team." GM Sean Fitzpatrick told the press.

Notes: Atlanta plays Golden State in the Season opener today.

Hawks get CRUSHED!

Image
The Atlanta Hawks played in Golden State last night, and it was not pretty.
The Hawks trailed by as many as 30, before cutting the lead to 17 via Tony Delk 3-pointers.
Jason Richardson and Baron Davis proved to be too much for the young Hawks, scoring a combined 68 points.
The highlight for the Hawks was their back-up point gaurd, Tony Delk. Dlek scored and un-real 25 points in 15 minutes coming off the bench.
Also impressive were Andrew Bogut and Tom Gugguliata, who had 6 boards a piece.

FINAL: GOLDEN STATE: 94 ATLANTA: 77

Another Deal for Atlanta

Image
Coming off of that horrid loss to Golden State, the Hawks traded their young swingman Josh Smith to the Seatle Supersonics for Rashard Lewis.
"Although I love Josh, when we saw that Rashard was available, we just had to knab him." GM Sean Fityzpatrick commented.

What a Difference!

Image
The Atlanta Hawks, coming off a 17 point loss to the Warriors, beat the Clippers 83-72 in overtime.
It was a much slower game than the Hawks first one, and that seemed to benefit the boys from Atlanta.
The player of the game was new Hawk Rashard Lewis. Rashard scored 20 points, and had 3 rebounds.
The Clippers played a hard game, but Elton Brand and Corey Maggete's 17 points each was not enough.

They Ain't So Bad!

Image
These Hawks pulled a complete 180 degree turn.
They had 5 players in double digits last night. In the first game, they had 1.
They made so many less mistakes. They cut their turnovers in half.
But mainly, their shots fell.
Rashard Lewis scored 20. If he gets 20 a game for them, they can win.
Andrew Bogut had 12. If he gets 12 a night, the can win.
Tony Delk ( the surprise of the year, so far) had 17. If he gets 17 a night, they WILL win.
I like these Hawks. They can win.

Image

The Player of the Game was Sebastian Telfair, whose 27 points and 5 assists led the Blazers.
The high point man was Rashard Lewis, who scored 34 points bt had only 1 board and no assists.

A Win for the Hawks!

Image
The Hawks won their first home game today, beating the Memphis Grizzlies 50-44. In what was a low scoring match, Kirk Hinrich led the Hawks to victory scoring 9 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter.
"Now this is how we play!" head coach Mike Woodson noted. "I like scoring more than the other team. It means that you win!" At that point the intoxicated Woodson passed out.
The Hawks improved to 2-4, and will be battlingthe Spurs on November 15.
