The Deviant Art Brushes

Postby SFSports on Sat Apr 15, 2006 4:54 am

First of all, let me say how hopeless you have made me feel ater only 10 minutes of looking around. I thought I was fairly good at Photoshop Elements 3.0, but that obviously is not the case. :)

What I am having trouble understanding is how to use the DeviantArt brushes that I see in all the tutorials. Is it my software? I get them into Photoshop, and they do not look like anything special.

I look forward to any responses as I try to get good at Photoshop. Again. :D

So you can get them into PS and use them, but they don't look right. Can you post a screen of the 'nothing special'? What kind of brushes were they?

Uh-oh. I tried a new brush, and, well, I lost my old one. When you open/save a brush from deviant art, where is it in Photoshop? I can't seem to access my old one now.

Just save them to your Photoshop>Presets>Brushes folder. They'll load up every time you open PS.

The Jason Maxiell sig is nothing special but not completely hopeless for a first one à la nbalive744. :)

Huh? How, exactly, do I do that? I have been trying, but can't find a Presets folder under Photoshop...

Yeah, put the file you download there ^^, then it will be an option under the Brushes to use that set.
