Whoa how'd i've missed this, good trade with #50 for Stephon Marbury, lineup looks nice and balanced should show a change.

C:Okafor
PF:Frye
SF:?Crawford?
SG:Richardson
PG:Francis

SWEET!

Nice, thanks for the comments. My starting line up looks something like this:

C: E. Curry

I Killed three birds with one stone with this trade,
1. I reduced my salary cap.
2. Got rid of Marbury.
3. Increased my depth in the C/PF positions. :D

I like this trade, it gives you a younger player and moe energy.

But I have to say, Marbury and Francis arent that bad, their contracts are ok.
The players I want to get rid of are Mo Taylor and Malik Rose and Jalen Rose. Their contracts are simply ridiculous.

But It´s nice to see how quickly you turned things around !

Thanks, I really would have loved to have kept Marbury & Francis but their contracts are way too ridiculous. Thesame goes for Mo Taylor, Malik & Jalen Rose (though I like Jalen Rose he's way over paid). Thanks to the trades I've carried out I'm now $8.31 over the salary cap which I think is a huge improvement. I'll still be looking to trade Francis (Preferably to the Bulls because they're the only team with the cap room I'm looking for and a descent substitute for him) and see if I can free up some cap space to sign a FA or two to increase my depth in certain positions (SF & G Positions) until the draft.

Coaching News

Curry has improved (by 1) in his tamina though the coach (Wiggins) feels that there is room for improvement.

NY @ SA Preview

The Knicks will be playing their third game of the season against the current NBA champions the San Antonio Spurs. If you will recall the Knicks beat the Spurs in the pre-season. Look for the Knicks to repeat that feat in the regular season where it really matters. Curry & Mek will be working downlow to contain TD while Larry Brown has decided to start Franchise so as to assist Robinson in containing Ginobili and Parker. The Knicks will also look to their bench (Crawford, Mo-Pete, LaFrentz & Frye) for an extra boost and the Knicks will need that boost if they are to hold off the Spurs for the second time. Robinson will need his speed to get by Parker who is a top notch PG and has the experience to handle a rookie like Robinson. Franchise can do it all on the offense and is more eperienced than Ginobili and will look to use this to his advantage when the two face off.

NY Starting Lineup
E. Curry
E. Okafor
Q. Richardson
S. Francis
N. Robinson

The Spurs will look to give TD the ball but seeing Mek & Curry downlow may have Popovich thinking otherwise. Look for Ginobili to penetrate the lane if Curry & Mek don't stop him. Parker will look to cause trouble one way or another unless Robinson can find a way of presuring him constantly thus forcing him to make mistakes. With Ginobili & Franchise its too close to call as both are capable of doing it all at both ends of the court. This will be a match up to keep a close watch on.

SA Sarting Lineup
N. Mohammed
T. Duncan
B. Bowen
M. Ginobili
T. Parker

Note: Game results will be posted tomorrow. Sorry for the delay but I've been so busy with work and Uni. Keep reading.

NY @ SA (120-117) W

It was nothing more than a fourth quarter rally and good play to hold the lead that helped the Knicks defeat the current NBA champions for a second time. The Knicks entered the fourth quarter with a double digit deficit, foul trouble from key players (Mek, Curry, Francis & Robinson) and very low confidence. The quarter started with both teams trading baskets and the Spurs frustrating the Knicks into more foul trouble. It was the bench in form of Crawford (good passing, hitting open shots and surprisingly his ability to get to the free throw line), Salim Stoudamire (good passing and good shooting as well as a surprising ability to penetrate the lane) & LaFrentz (his good shooting and defensive plays downlow) that really sparked the run for the Knicks. The Spurs kept it close through Duncan who seemed to always score despite Mek and Curry, Tony Parker with his pin point passes and Bruce Bowen who seemed to rain threes. The Knicks were able to intercept slow passes and made many of their fourth quarter points through fast breaks, steals and defensive rebounds. Q-Rich was the player of the game with 29 points and 10 rebounds (Double double). Larry Brown although happy with the win expects such fourth quarter play through out the entire game, he expects the team to start early to build consistency just despite all the changes taking place. The Knicks will look to add to their two game winning streak when they face the Golden State Warriors in six days time.
Major Knicks' Players
Q. Richardon: 29pts, 10reb, 4ast & 2stl
S. Stoudamire: 15pts & 1ast
E. Curry: 14pts, 15reb
S. Francis: 12pts, 7ast, 4stl & 2reb
J. Crawford: 10pts, 6ast & 1reb
N. Robinson: 9pts, 5ast, 2reb
E. Okafor: 8pts, 10reb & 2blk

The Spurs started off strong for the first three quarters out scoring the Knicks in all but the third quarter. Duncan torched the Knicks downlow despite all efforts from Curry and Mek to contain him. Ginobili was held to ten points of 4/10 shooting. Parker did a nice job of passing the ball and dictating the Spurs offense. Bowen nailed four three point shots during the fourth quarter to keep the Spurs within contention but all to no avail as they fell short as the Knicks clinched a very close victory from the NBA champs. The Spurs failed to continue attacking despite NY's fourth quarter come back. They (Spurs) need to learn to attack all four quarters of the game to seal a victory not build a lead and hope to hang to it.
Major Spurs' Players
T. Duncan: 35pts, 13reb, 3ast & 2stl
T. Parker: 21pts, 9ast, 5reb & 1stl
B. Bowen: 18pts, 5reb, 3ast & 2stl
N. Mohammed: 14pts, 11re & 2blk
M. Ginobili: 10pts, 4ast, 3stl & 2reb
M. Finely: 10pts & 3reb

Next game preview (and possibly recap) will be posted tomorrow or in the following week at the latest. Keep reading.

NY @ GS Preview

The only force the Knicks will have to contend with will be the back court of J-Rich & Baron Davis. Francis & Robinson will have to use everything in their arsenal (pressure them constantly, get them to commit fouls, pressure them to mistakes etc) to limit their effectiveness. NY should look to score from the inside where Adonal Foyle & Troy Murphy may not have much success containing Mek & Curry unless they get them into foul trouble and pressure them to commit turnovers. The Warriors have a some weapons of the bench in form of Ike Diogu, Derek Fisher and Mickael Pietrus. The Knicks should look to counter that with Crawford, Mo-Pete, Frye & LaFrentz. Odds are in favour of the Knicks if they contain the J-Rich & Davis and execute in the inside. The Warriors have a chance of winning if they find a way to contain Curry & Mek in the inside, contain Q-Rich who will shoot the lights out if given the chance and contain Francis who will not fail to make the defence pay if they slack whilst defending him.

Each team's starting lineup will be posted before gameplay.

Thanks for reading. With the LaFrentz trade I was trying to be realistic as well as fill in a void we were lacking (Cs & PFs that could actually block shot) and he fills that in perfectly, he's also a shooter from range which is an added bonus considering the loss of Marbury. He has a 3 to 4yr contract and depending on how he plays I may or may not re-sign him. Thanks for reading. :D

A question...are you simulating the first 3 quarters of every game and then play every 4th quarter?

Yes, I don't like the way the CPU makes use of the bench and I want them (benched players) to have a bigger role in each game. :)

I think your dynasty is fantastic. Its the first of its kind compared to others even mine. Try and center it around the next team Sit will be the GM of. Tell it like you tell a story and add some game play action. If you do that, know I'll read like I've never read before. :D :D

Good win over the Spurs, and hey "Q" is rocking, like in my Dynasty !

Well you should be able to win vs the Warriors with your new frontcourt, I mean Curry and Meka are better than ... Murphy and Foyle(?)
