michael jordan made the right decision in my eyes to come back to basketball. who cares if he doesn't win a championship. many great players who won championships in the past retired as so called 'losers' but nobody remembers then as 'losers' do they

hey hey, i never said jordan is a loser
im just saying, it wouldve looked a lot better if he stayed retired after winning the championship in his final year(well before he came back)

robinson was very good player.he was solid in defense and offense, but now tim duncan is better because duncan does it all -he can rebound, give assists, and scoring.
duncan have lots of prizes rookie of the year, back to back postseason mvp,all star mvp .spurs vs knicks finals mvp and 2003 vs nets again mvp.

I'm not. Freakin Spurs. I hate all of them except Stephen Jackson, because he tried his hardest with all those turnovers to let the nets win.

this is why Jordan shouldnt of comeback, he will be remembered as retiring as a loser............as bad as it sounds, its quite true.

On the other hand, no one remembers Kareem as the guy who lost the title in his final game while scoring 7 points and grabbing 3 rebounds in his final outing. He's the leader in total career points who had one of the deadliest shots in the history of basketball.

Similarly, no one remembers Bob Cousy's brief comeback with the Cincinnati Royals at the age of 43, basically a gimmick to bring some attention to the team.

We tend to think of Showtime Magic and Larry Legend, not the Magic who made a comeback in the 95/96 season after retiring abruptly or the Bird who was forced to retire due to back problems. And we talk about Wilt's 50.4 ppg, not the 13.2 ppg of his final season.

Few athletes have "storybook" endings to their career, so we tend not to focus on their last couple of seasons where they were traded or took a back seat to up and coming talent. When an athletes triumphs outweigh their failures, the triumphs are what we focus on.

Notice how everyone is a Spurs fan now.

That will always happen. Not every Bulls fan remained when the team was dismantled nor were they around before the first title. Not every Laker fan in the world followed the team before 2000, and some have probably already jumped ship.

But I think for the most part it's just giving the Spurs their due. Being neither a Spurs or Nets fan, I was fairly neutral going into the Finals. By the end, I wanted the Spurs to win, primarily due to the Admiral's impending retirement. But the fact that they did win didn't make me overjoyed, nor did it make me a Spurs fan.

Spurs fan?
not me
Lakers fan?
not me
Kobe Bryant fan?
yes me

I don't hate or like the Spurs their just there. But i have always liked Tim Duncan. Remember when everyone hated on TD cause they thought Kidd should be MVP? I was with TD then, and was with him after the Lakers swept them back, :-) Go kobe!

dont know what planet your on Limp, but were talking about the Finals, and yes i still say he stunk it up against the lakers, but he had shaq, so its plain and simple why he did.

nd ive never liked the spurs actually, only player i have liked is Robinson(prolly the earlier version, not is oldself) and Malik Rose. I dont mind Duncan.
I hate Ginobili
dont mind Bowen.
but the rest i have no real care for.

im still Lakers and Cavaliers, till the day i die

At times, every former nba player will, but he knows and feels like this is the end, so its just right and i think he really wants to spend time with his family(also his body wont be able to play more years without any pain, what would result in lots of injuries), i think he wont regret it, it ended like a fairy tale :)

now that i've thought about it, i think robinson was the better individual player while duncan was the better team player. duncan hasn't even reached his prime yet and look what he was able to with this current team

it will forever be a mystery, but at least everyone on this board can safely assume you're from the planet 'kobe bryant' considering how far up his arse you are.
