Nice trade, hopefully you'll turn Lowo into a decent player rather than bust.

Raptors late rally choke the Wizards' defense
Carter and Peterson light it up in the 4th quarter.
Washington - Toronto : 80-95

Image

Toronto was expecting good things from it's new additions Michael Olowokandi and Jeff McInnis. Everyone thought that this would be the first easy win of the season due to Washingon's thin roster, but it was clear from the start that the visitors came ready to play.

1st Quarter
Morris Peterson and Vince Carter started the game by scoring the first four baskets. Richard Hamilton nad Juwan Howard kept Washington in the game as the Wizards held a 23-22 lead towards the buzzer. Felipe Lopez totally posterized Morris Peterson and earned the play of the game honours.

2nd Quarter
The second quarter started with sloppy execution from both of the teams and it resulted in many turnovers. Richard Hamilton and Morris Peterson started to heat up and they seemed to wage war at the SG position trading baskets all quarter. Toronto rallied to a three point lead and Vince Carter made it a six point lead with a clutch three pointer at the buzzer.

Left: Antonio Davis played another great game in the post. - Right: Carter slams another poster, this time on the Wizards.

3rd Quarter
Richard Hamilton wasn't ready to give up and came out firing and succeeding. Toronto got a bit exhausted and at the end of the quarter the game still was close, this time Washington leading by a point.

4th Quarter
Kevin Willis stepped on the court and proved he can still bring it by scoring his eight points in the first three minutes. Meanwhile Peterson was lighting it up against Hamilton, who this time couldn't answer. Vince Carter continued his solid point production and that was about it. Toronto came through in the final quarter once again by outscoring the Wizards 27-11 in the quarter.

Analysis:
The Raptors played a great fourth quarter and it was enough this time. It was a close came but the field goal percentage was a factor this night with Toronto coming out on the top (43% vs 32%). Toronto still needs to better it's performance on rebounding and ball handling.

Player breakdown:
Vince Carter had a great game with 30 points and continues to bring it. Morris Peterson had his best game thus far and Antonio Davis was solid in the paint. Olowokandi had a solid game at the defensive end with 11 rebounds and 7 blocks and seems to be the kind of player Toronto has been looking for. This game could have been much easier if it hasn't been for Rip Hamilton's stellar 27+7 performance.

Next Game
Toronto looks to take a 2-0 season series lead from the Boston Celtics at home. Again it's Paul Pierce vs. Vince Carter.

Probable starters for the Celtics:
C - Tony Battie
PF- Jerome Moiso
SF- Antoine Walker
SG- Paul Pierce
PG- Kenny Anderson

Based on your stats, your rebounding numbers are down because you concentrate too much on shot blocking or stealing.

2001 has it's issues like any other Live and rebounding is one issue. the cpu especially at the end of the games start the 3pt shootout and it's sometimes impossible to get the defensive rebound. the teammate ai is also pretty idiotic especially at the defensive end so in order to prevent the cpu to get mad easy shots I have to try to go for the block
but I still love this game and I'd say it's still my favourite Live I own. Live 06 is also great but I don't have it, only played it at my friend.

glad you like this dynasty :D

btw, I think I'll work on my game recaps for now on, theyre a bit heavy and long right now. I still want to keep them detailed but I'll compress them a bit

The teammate AI is lacking, but don't get immersed using only blocks and steals in defending. Block the passing lines inside, give weak side help, learn how to instantly switch from using a perimeter defender to an inside one. It's better playing the game that way than just with block or steals.
The CPU does the 3-point shootout when it's down by 3, if the game is only with a 2 or 1 point differential, the CPU usually settles for the high percentage shot.
My problem with the game for now is that I commit a lot of TO's and my assist numbers are low (I know it's related  ).

Yes, I'm playing Live2001 right now because this is the only version that I own. Playoffs are nearing and I've got to feed my basketball gaming appetite.

Starting Lineups
Boston Celtics - Toronto Raptors

C: Tony Battie - Michael Olowokandi
PF: Jerome Moiso - Antonio Davis
SF: Antoine Walker - Vince Carter
SG: Paul Pierce - Morris Peterson
PG: Kenny Anderson - Mark Jackson

Raptors looked to grab a 2-0 season series lead against the Celtics in Toronto. Boston was coming off a loss against Cleveland Cavaliers and didn't want to begin a losing streak.

1st Quarter:
Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker open the game with all of Boston's first points in a game opening 10-2 run. Toronto tightened up their defense and managed to bounce back and hold a five point lead at the end of the quarter.

2nd Quarter
Antonio Davis began to take over under the basket and kept attacking. Toronto's supporting cast did a great job on converting plays into baskets and they kept rolling to a 39-47 halftime lead.

3rd Quarter
Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce came determined to bring the Celtics back and the attitude rubbed on the rest of the team as the Celtics crashed the boards hard and for a moment Toronto looked helpless. Vince Carter hit some important shots to keep the Raptors ahead while Antonio Davis continued his solid point production.

4rd Quarter
Boston continued it's dominant rebounding on both ends and got most of it's points in the paint. In the end it was a tight battle but Toronto never let the visiting team too close and left the floor with the W.

Game Analysis:
Toronto lacked rebounding more than ever but compensated with great on ball defense. Raptors also shot better from the field and was terrific from the free throw line (89%).

Player breakdown:
Antonio Davis was the player of the game no doubt with one of his best performances ever. Vince Carter added a solid 18 points but no-one else really shined on offense. Boston's two guns Pierce and Walker had a good game but they could have been better. Tony Battie had a great game with 13 points and 19 rebounds.

Top Performers:
Toronto: Vince Carter - 18pts, 5rebs, 4asts, 2stls
Boston: Antoine Walker - 22pts, 11rebs, 3stls, 1ast

Game Leaders:
Points: Antonio Davis (TOR) - 32
Rebounds: Tony Battie (BOS) - 19
Assists: 3 tied - 5

Top-Right: One of Antonio Davis' dunks, he came out with Player Of the Game honours for the second time this season.

Bottom-Right: Vince Carter jams it again.

Next Game
Both Cleveland (2-2) and Toronto (4-1) look to expand their winning streak at Toronto. Cleveland has won two straight against Boston and New York Knicks.

Probable starters for the Cavaliers:
C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas
PF-Chris Mihm
SF-Lamond Murray
SG-Wesley Person
PG-Andre Miller

Here are final scores for the other games:
WAS - CHI : 87-88

Last minute tactics result in Raptors' win
Cleveland close to a victory.

Starting Lineups
Cleveland Cavaliers - Toronto Raptors

C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas - Michael Olowokandi
PF: Chris Mihm - Antonio Davis
SF: Lamond Murray - Vince Carter
SG: Matt Harpring - Morris Peterson
PG: Andre Miller - Mark Jackson

Both teams wanted to extend their winning streak, Raptors to five, Cleveland to three.

1st Quarter:
Morris Peterson hits the game's first 8 points and finishes with 11 in the quarter. Cleveland steps up and dominate on defense and in the post. A lot of fouls are called.

2nd Quarter
Cleveland's post play is the name of the game and they bounce right back into the game behind 14 points.

3rd Quarter
Chris Mihm and Lamond Murray make the first baskets and then defense gets a bigger role and the game is slowed down. Cleveland takes the lead but in the final minute Vince Carter scores quick 6 points to put the Raptors ahead by one.

4rd Quarter
Toronto lead 83-81 when the final minute ticked off. Morris Peterson got on a 1on1 breakaway against Matt Harpring, where Peterson shook him off and got two points. On the next possession Cleveland got called 3 seconds in the paint and for some reason they didn't foul, so Toronto got away with a 85-81 win.

Game Analysis:
Cleveland earned this game if it hadn't been the final 2 minutes. It beat Toronto in every category except the final score and at the end that is all that matters.

Player breakdown:
Cleveland got very solid point production for most of it's players and they also rebounded Toronto out of it's own gym. On the other hand Toronto got a great game from Carter, Peterson and Antonio Davis.

Top Performers:
Toronto: Antonio Davis - 13pts, 9rebs, 1ast, 1stl
Cleveland: Chris Mihm - 16pts, 18rebs, 3stls, 2asts, 2blks

Game Leaders:

Top-Right: Michael Olowokandi shoots from the baseline.
Bottom-Left: Kevin Willis feeling the lift as he dunks it.

Player Of The Game - Elton Brand
Play Of The Game - Brad Miller slams it after a nice find by Bryce Drew. - Click for Video

Starting Lineups
Toronto Raptors - Chicago Bulls

C: Michael Olowokandi - Brad Miller
PF: Antonio Davis - Elton Brand
SF: Vince Carter - Ron Artest
SG: Morris Peterson - Jamal Crawford
PG: Mark Jackson - Bryce Drew

Raptors stepped on the floor with a five game winning streak and looked to expand it even more. The Bulls had different ideas in mind.

1st Quarter:
Brad Miller comes up strong on the offensive end, scoring points and snapping offensive rebounds. Both teams play tight D but Chicago comes up on top with lots of steals.

2nd Quarter
Toronto steps up on D and Corliss Williamson makes 14 points in the quarter, but Chicago keeps on rolling lead by terrific plays by Elton Brand.

3rd Quarter
Toronto falls behind by 16 points and Elton Brand keeps pouring in shots, but Vince Carter heats up and starts to make shot after shot.

4rd Quarter
Vince Carter continues his lonely crusade against the Bulls' defense and brings his team all the way back. Dell Curry's three pointer puts Toronto up 114-113 with a minute left. With 26 seconds on the clock Chicago is back on top 116-117. Toronto gives the last shot to Carter, who doesn't get it to fall and Chicago takes the game.

Game Analysis:
Toronto got outplayed in every category, so statistically was the second bad game in a row. If it wasn't been for Vince Carter's heroics in the second half this game could have been over much earlier.

Player breakdown:
Toronto was all VC tonight, althought Corliss Williamson netted a season-high 21. Michael Olowokandi swatted 9 Chicago shots, that's why Toronto traded for him. Chicago got five players in double digits; Brand had 29, Miller 21, Crawford and Artest 18 and Drew 13. Brand and Miller were unstoppable on rebounding also.

Top Performers:
Toronto: Vince Carter - 48pts, 6rebs, 4blks, 3stls, 1ast
Chicago: Brand Miller - 23pts, 17rebs, 4stls, 3asts

Game Leaders:
Points: Vince Carter (TOR) - 48
Rebound: Brad Miller (CHI) - 17
Assists: Bryce Drew (CHI) - 9

Top: The first half was all Elton Brand, he got it done inside and outside.
Bottom-Left: Brad Miller's dunk was the Play Of The Game.
Bottom-Right: Carter was on fire with 48 points but missed the last shot that could have winned the game.

Next Game
Toronto looks to bounce back, this time against the Portland Trail Blazers. Blazers are 5-4 and coming off a loss against Atlanta.

Probable starters for the Bulls:
C - Arvydas Sabonis
PF-Rasheed Wallace
SF-Bonzi Wells
SG-Steve Smith
PG-Damon Stoudamire

I tried to continue the dynasty today against portland but I got smacked and the gameplay was pissing me off and in frustration I almost broke my keyboard, so I chose to get my ass smacked in Wolfenstein Enemy Territory instead.
