Jordan XXI Commercial

Postby Abctest123 on Thu Mar 23, 2006 1:35 pm

Alright, by now, I believe pretty much everyone has seen this commercial (the commercial is like 1-2 months old). If not, the commercial is a few youngsters redo some of Jordan's signature moves (ie. his crossover on Russell, one hand fake, etc.) and finishing with a kid doing "the shrug" and looking at jordan on the sidelines. the reason i made this thread is not to just talk about this commercial, but i also have the link to the ad split screen, with one half of the screen with the ad, and the other half is the actual Jordan moment. After seeing this, you'll see how amazingly done this ad was. Not to mention this ad made me a little nostalgic  , of showing how great Michael was.

Yea I seen the half-sided one a few weeks ago. It's amazing how they had it all down pat as far the players moving in the background and everything. When I saw the original commercial, I didn't think it was would be that detailed. Wish I could've been in the commercial and got some free Jordan stuff

Even better is the jordan vs. young jordan 1 on 1 game from 3 years ago. Now that was truely amazing.

Yeah I really like this one too.
Plus it's on nba.com before the highlights and it's only 00:16 instead of like the 00:30 of other annoying ads, so that's (Y).
Another good one is the Gatorade one where MJ actually misses "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo.
I guess MJ as actor = good commercial.

Maybe it's just me, but I found it really freaky. Almost disturbing. It's like these kids are being possessed with Jordan's demon or brainwashed through countless hours of watching Jordan nostalgia.

Cy I think you need to seek therapy.

The ad was absolutely amazing, I never realized how realistic the scenes were when compared to the actual moments. I also like the Gatorade one where Jordan misses the shot, the Yankees miss the tag on Giambi and Dwight Clark misses the catch.

It's a cleverly shot ad... I read an article on ESPN about this and watched the ad to make sense of the article. Someone said they were confused with the start of it: it was meant to confuse for a moment cause the viewer is supposed to think, 'Wait a sec, i seen this all before'

The report also wrote how the kids in the advert had to do the Jordan moves as Jordan-like as they could. Not as perfect as they could but it had to be in the flow of the game...

You saying that the little short kid actually did that free throw line dunk? Unbelievable.

That commercial made me feel warm and fuzzy. Made me reminisce when Jordan was still "the man".

They basically had them do it, but did computer editing. The lay-up was most likely edited, the cradle dunk was edited along with the FT line dunk. The rest of it was pretty much real.
