Polishing up GOLD: A DWeaver Dynasty {3-2}

Postby The X on Fri Mar 10, 2006 9:19 pm

Weaver seems to be having a hiatus from NLSC, for whatever reasons, so in the meantime, I'm gonna post his Golden State Warriors dynasty for him

ATLANTA HAWKS

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Team Record: 0-1

Baron Davis and Al Harrington duke it out in the 4th, Hawks get the win in the end...

Below: Mike Dunleavy had a good opening night scoring 24, but it was Al Harrington's career night that sealed the deal in the end for the Hawks...
ImageImage

It was a close game throught the 48 minutes, and only details tilted teh scales in favor of the Hawks. It certainly didn't hurt Atlanta's cause that Al Harrington had a monster game, tallying 32 points and bringing down 16 boards. Jason Richardson was solid for 3 quarters but pulled a vanishing act in the 4th, leaving only Baron davis to carry the predictable Warriors' offense. Dunleavy had a good game on offense but his defensive inadequacies allowed Joe Johnson to run rampant in the end.

Game MVP: Al Harrington 32pts - 16rebs - 3ast - 2stl - 13/18 FGs

Stats of Note:

ATL:

J. Johnson 23pts (12 in the 4th quarter) - 8ast - 4rebs - 3/4 3pt
T. Lue 24pts - 5ast - 2rebs
Z. Pachulia 4pts - 11rebs

GS:

B. Davis 29pts - 7ast - 6rebs - 3stl
M. Dunleavy 25pts - 4rebs
J. Richardson 19pts - 5rebs - 5ast

Post-Game Quotes:

Jason Richardson: "It was a close one up until the end, and we dropped it. I couldn't get my shot sin the 4th and it cost the team dearly. I know I'll have to be more productive down the stretch for this club to reach the playoffs.

Baron Davis: "I had a good game, sure, but things just didn't roll into place for us. We couldn't keep our cool down the stretch, lost some defensive rebounds, allowed some open looks and that's about it.

Al Harrington:"Feels good winning the opener of the season. We went toe-to-toe with the Warriors, but were more focused in the final minutes. I had a godo one myself, which adds to the pleasure."

UTAH JAZZ

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Team Record: 1-1

Brick throwing contest, Warriors win relatively easy...

Below: Jason Richardson was the team's leading scorer, despite a horrid 7/24 from teh floor, but his defense on Kirilenko for the entire time teh Russioan was on the floor made even more of a difference...
ImageImage

The Warriors managed to grab a 10 point lead early in the 2nd, and held on to it effortlessly up until the beginning of teh final period. The Jazz, led by a resurgent Carlos Boozer, managed to cut teh deficit all the way down to 4, at one point, but that was as far as the visitors could go. Two straight 3 point bombs by Jason richardson and Mickeal Pietrus made it a 10 point lead again, and it pretty much ended there, with 3 minutes left to go. Both teams were horribel from the floor, with the Jazz shooting .366 and teh Warriors .400, but a number of offensive boards and free throws for both teams resulted in a high scoreline .

Game MVP: Jason Richardson 29pts - 4rebs - 3ast - 12/16 FT

Stats of Note:

UTAH:

A. Kirilenko 14pts - 10rebs - 3blk
M. Palacio 16pts - 9ast
M. Okur 11pts - 10rebs

GS:

T. Murphy 19pts - 10rebs
B. Davis 21pts - 5rebs - 5ast

Post-Game Quotes:

Jason Richardson: "We were up for most of the game, never gave up the lead for the last 3 quarters. I think this is a deserved victory. I still couldn't get my shot to fall, but drew enough contact in my drives to make up for it..

Troy Murphy: "I had a good game, sure, but things just didn't roll into place for us. We couldn't keep our cool down the stretch, lost some defensive rebounds, allowed some open looks and that's about it.

Andrei Kirilenko:"We never got into any decent rhythm, except maybe late in teh game, and then those two long shots killed our chances of a turnaround. Jason gave me a rough time tonight on offense."

NEW YORK KNICKS

Team Record: 1-2

Warriors never really show up, get trounced by the Knicks...

Below: Baron Davis finished with only 7 points and a handful of turnovers, all the while Stephon Marbury had no trouble againstthe lacking Warriors' inside defense...
ImageImage

With Baron Davis and Jason Richardson going for a combined 9 for 35 from the field, the warriors never eally stood a chance of coming away with anything from their visit of the Gardem tonight. Stephon Marbury from teh outside and Eddy Curry from the paint took turns in punishing the visitors, who didn't exactly set the world on fire on defense, either. The Knicks got a 15 point lead at the half time, and were never threatened in any way for the remaining 24 minutes, as the only Warrior who actually played like one was Troy Murphy, who yet again got in fould trouble, but escaped fouling out just barely. .

Game MVP: Stephon Marbury 27pts - 5rebs - 11/18 FG

Stats of Note:

GS:

T. Murphy 24pts - 14rebs
J. Richardson 16pts - 3ast
B. Davis 7pts - 7rebs - 8ast - 5stl - 3/17 FG
A. Foyle 5pts - 12rebs

NY:

E. Curry 15pts - 14rebs
J. Rose 14pts - 6rebs - 6ast
S. Francis 13pts - 6ast

Post-Game Quotes:

Troy Murphy: We never really showed up tonight, and that's about it. Commiting 17 fouls in 3 games is something I must ponder upon...[/i]

B. Davis: "It wasn't their defense that stopped us. We had a lot of open looks, but could not deliver. 3/17 from the field is awful, but next game it'll all be different.

Stephon Marbury :" We had a god game, played solid D, and get out of here teh winners. With more games like this, we'll be back in the playoffs this year."

MILWAUKEE BUCKS (1-3)
Image 77

Team Record: 2-2

Golden State dominates second half, blows out the Bucks in Milwaukee...

Below: It was showtime in the 4th for the Warriors, after securing a big lead and playing the reserves in the final 4 minutes. Pietrus and Ellis took advantage of the low pressure situations and silenced the Milwaukee crowd further with some highlight plays...
ImageImage

With 7 Golden State players in double digits, Milwaukee did not really stand the chance today, despite playing in front of a crowd that filled Bradley Center to the rafters. No warrior really stood out much above the others, and there was alot of scoring and defensive help coming from the bench, namely Fisher and Pietrus. All the Bucks could do was crash teh boards and hope for a comeback, but despite the fact that Bobby Simmons, Andrew Bogut and Jamal Magloire combined for 36 boards, that really didn't make any difference, as the home side shot a torrid .352 from the floor with only 1 made three pointer in 9 attempts. .

Game MVP: Baron Davis 10pts - 11ast - 5rebs

Stats of Note:

GS:

M. Dunleavy 15pts - 9rebs - 3ast
T. Murphy 19pts - 4rebs - 4stl
D. Fisher 14pts - 3ast - 17mins

MIL:

J. Magloire 14pts - 14rebs
B. Simmons 19pts - 11rebs - 4ast
A. Bogut 15pts - 11rebs - 3ast

Post-Game Quotes:

Troy Murphy:It was a good game, we came out strong in the second half, grabbed a double digit lead and did nit give it up until the end. That's the way we want to play on the road, taking the home crowd out early...[/i]

Baron Davis: "We played well, we stopped them on our end of teh court, and did just enough to stroll throughout the 4th quarter. Wins like these are confidence boosters and I think it's going to show in the next game

Michael Redd :" They shut us down on defense, we couldn't get any fast breaks going our way, and settled for tough, contested shots for much of the game. The result is fair.."

CHICAGO BULLS (1-3)
Image 106

Team Record: 3-2

Bulls put a scare on the Warriors in the 4th, but the visitors narrowly escape with the win...

Below: Jason Richardson scored 7 points in crucial moments in the 4th quarter, before hurting his left hand falling on the floor after he was fouled during a dunk attempt...
ImageImage

Baron Davis assumed command of his team's offense after a lacklustre first half, and the rest of the team followed suit to turn thi sone around and come back from 14 point sbehind after 2 quarters. Jason Richardson seemingly scored all of his 20 second half points in crucial moments, either giving the Warriors the lead or answering the Bulls' baskets right back. Dunleavy and Fisher were gold during the later stretches of teh game, making their free throws and taking advantage of Davis and Richardson getting double teamed. Chicago almost stol ethis game back in the 4th, but Kirk Hinrich's inspiring performance was not enough to do so.

[SIZE=18]

Game MVP: Baron Davis 27pts - 7ast - 8rebs - 3stl - 8/15 FG

Stats of Note:

GS:

J. Richardson 24pts - 6rebs - 4ast - 4stl - 10/20 FG
M. Dunleavy 14pts - 6rebs - 3ast
D. Fisher 12pts - 13mins

CHI:

K. Hinrich 30pts - 12ast - 5rebs - 4stl - 11/19 FG
T. Chandler 21pts - 5rebs
O. Harrington 4pts - 17rebs

Post-Game Quotes:

Baron Davis:We were awful in the first half, but things changed later on. Hinrich put a scare in us late in the game, but we survived it and got the W. I'm glad I helped my team get another road win...[/i]

Derek Fisher:" It was anice one for us, in the second half that is. We almost blew it in the ned, but we went 100% from the free throw line in the last 3 minutes or so, and that about clinched it.

Kirk Hinrich:" We were really out of focus in teh second half, and blew our safe first half lead. We really should be more focused in games, from beginning to end..."

You also think you should be on shoutout lists, your opinion stands for nothing.

Why isn't his name on the banned list???

Because it was left upto me to think of something clever to use on it, but as yet I haven't.

Anyways since this isn't an X dynasty, it sucks. Looks generic and shit, spelling errors bother me and I stopped reading after the first post

I don't need to justify it. Matthew made the call, Andrew backed it up. This isn't a democracy.
