* That last line supposed to say: "What the Knicks decide to do with their feuding duo, Brown and Marbury and their future will have to be seen, but they have obviously decided that Thomas will not be the one making the decision." or something along those lines, i could fix it because my comp didnt save it as a PSD but as a JPEG but w/e that just part of whats going to happen. The point is Isiah is OUT and someone will replace him.

yea ive wanted thomas to get fired in real life, mainly after he made those comments and ive read some articles that said he was basically taking orders from brown on what players to get and such, i like him as a player but hes arrogance and cockiness have always made me dislike him, i figured if im going to turn the team around i didnt want to acredit it to him even if its just made up, i wanted to make my dynasty my own, with that said, i dont really know who to make the GM, i will announce it either today or tomm, but right now im trying to think of someone who wuld make a good/interesting and somewhat realistic if possible GM for my knicks

Magic Johnson hired as GM

The Knicks and CEO Jim Dolan anounced today that they have hired Earvin 'Magic' Johnson as their General Manager and President of Basketball Operations. The Knicks have given the Laker great the keys to the franchise as they try to turn around a 6-22 team led by Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown.

Magic brings his radiant smile and charisma to New York as the new GM

The announcement comes two days after the Knicks fired Isiah Thomas after a mediocre two year stint as the GM. The Knicks cleared the air by going public on their reasons for firing Isiah and finally deciding on Magic.

"The firing of Isiah had nothing to do with the sexual harassment suit, I know the media has hinted as that being the reason but we just felt it was the right time for a change. We couldnt just sit back and watch as the team lost game after game. We decide it was the best time for a change. And we acted swiftly." said Dolan, the CEO of the Knicks corporate owner, Cablevision.

The firing of Thomas came as a surprise to many, including head coach Larry Brown who had a close relationship with Thomas and was dissapointed to see him leave.

"Isiah was the reason i took this job. My relationship and friendship with him was what made me decide on New York. I was angry when I found out he was fired. I wasnt informed and never told that Thomas was on the hot seat or anything like that. I think he received unfair criticism and Im really dont know what brought about the firing. I wouldve liked to build something here in New York and I thought Isiah was a part of that. All I can do is coach and prepare my team for the next game." commented Brown.

Magic replaces Thomas as Knicks GM

Magic Johnson was introduced to the press and instead of fielding questions, delivered a powerful statement.

Said Johnson: "It is a blessing to be given this oppotunity. It was an extremely difficult decision to leave the Lakers but Mr. Dolan did a great job and here I am. I dont want you guys to look at me as the guy whose here to replace Isiah. Im here to bring New York back to where it supposed to be, a contender in the East and a playoff team that can contend for a title. I will do my best to do that and as far as the team and staff I will sit down with Coach Brown and evaluate what it is i want to do and what he wants to do. I can tell you this, no one player on this team is untradeable. I will use this weeks games to evaluate the talent on this team and we'll will move on form there. Thank you for coming."

Magic will try to bring a championship to the Big Apple

Magic Johnson, who was originally considered for the job when Layden was fired, but was beat out by Thomas, seems to be determined and the right man for the job. He is a savy businessman and has great charisma and will fit in in the Big Apple.

If this was real life, it would have been a good choice. But this is NBA Live, and it doesn't effect anything. Nice story nonetheless. (Y)

Nice choice bro (Y) I saw the title "Big Apple Magic" and I thought "It has to be Magic, yeah" :P

Good work buddy! Altho, it would never happen in real life! (Y)

WOW  Big news going on around here  I hope Magic can solve that jigsaw puzzle of players & salary problems...

Good luck turning around the Knicks. I predict that you'll make the playoffs next season. (although you never know about this one...)

Hey, you gonna do that big trade like in real life? Ariza and Hardaway for Francis?

Mon Mar 06, 2006 6:01 am

hey guys, its been a long time since i last posted, and almost a month since i played any games in the dynasty. The layoff along with some dbf editing goofs have led me to not continue with this one. I plan on starting a new one soon but after trying to update the players.dbf with trades and ratings and losing interest with the knicks this ones over.

My next dynasty will be with either Poertland, Boston, Atlanta or Miiny

I decided to pick between struggling teams and try to make them better, i will start a thread for u guys to vote...........
