AI hits the shot that puts Philly up for good

Miami November 18 (Ticker) -- The Sixers, without Sam Dalembert, faced the Miami Heat tonight. Miami's defense led by Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade held the Sixers to low scores. It was a defensive struggle the whole night. When the 3rd quarter was over, Miami was leading 66-63, and looked to stop Philly.
Then came the 4th quarter. The Sixers came out strong, helped by some surprisingly good play by reserve Shavlik Randolph. He contributed with big buckets. That gave the starters the momentum they needed when Randolph went back to the bench with 5:04 to play. Iverson connected on a highly contested shot to give the Sixers the lead for good, and with their best free throw shooters Philly made all but 1 down the stretch. They will carry this momentum on as they try to beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night.

Some more news regarding injuries.
Baron Davis has a neck spasm. He will be out for 8 days. Derek Fisher will start in his place.

Before the hornets recap, there was an injury which i had mentioned about in the Cleveland recap. The injured player was Kyle Korver.

PJ Brown grabs one of 26 offensive boards for the Hornets

PHILADELPHIA November 21 (Ticker) -- A young, inexperienced ballclub, the Hornets came to face the short-handed Sixers. Led by Chris Paul, the Hornets look to get their record up to 3-7 against the Sixers, who are without Samuel Dalembert and Kyle Korver. But the Sixers will not give up. They have come off a blowout loss against the Cavs at home and are determined to get a win here tonight.
In the first quarter, Allen Iverson started off hot, scoring 8 of the Sixers first 9 points. But then he got injured. Doctors said it was an arm injury, and he could play through it. While he was out, Andre Iguodala carried the load, scoring 10 points, while offensive rebounds kept the Hornets close in the 1st quarter. The Sixers would begin the 2nd quarter leading by 3.
The Hornets would come out strong in the second quarter when JR Smith made a 3 in which he was fouled. He missed the free throw, but the Hornets clearly had all the momentum. They had the lead up to 10 until Allen Iverson reenetered the game with 1 minute left in the half. That spark was all the Sixers needed and they cut the lead down to 5.
In the third quarter the Hornets took over. Chris Paul controlled the game by scoring clutch baskets and David West had some big boards as they expanded their lead to 16. They did all of this without Desmond Mason, who was hurt in the quarter. The Sixers looked to make a comeback in the 4th quarter.
But they wouldnt even come close. The Hornets continued to get more offensive rebounds as they would bring the lead up even more. The Sixers looked tired, and not ready for a quick Hornets team. The Sixers hope Samuel Dalembert will be back for their next game.

Before the Knicks game, Sixers found out that Dalembert could play. He will be injured though for 5 more days.
Image

In a intervened game against the Knicks, the Sixers beat the Knicks 107-104. Chris Webber had a great game, with 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists, but fouled out before he could get the triple double. Also Sam Dalembert reinjured his sore shoulder. He should be able to return though.

AI will be back for the Portland game. The Sixers got the news.

The first power rankings have been released here are the top 10.

The Sixers are currently ranked 15th, at 7-7.

Sam Dalembert has made a full recovery from that injury. He should be playing more minutes now.

The Sixers then lose to the Trailblazers 108-99. AI played limited minutes so he could recover from the injury faster.

However with that came good news. AI is fully recovered.

Also around the league Jason Terry had 40 points, 7 3 pointers and 16 assists in a blowout win for Dallas in another game.

The next game will be @ Boston.
