-The Diary of Chris Bosh: Based on the TORONTO RAPTORS-

This is a work of fiction based on the TORONTO RAPTORS.

“Chris, Welcome to the big times son! The All-Star Game!”
It was Saturday, the 18th 2006, In the locker room in Houston.
Flip Saunders was trying to coach the Eastern All-Stars to a winning streak of 2 in the All-Star Game, years ago that never would of seemed possible.
Now, ‘Flip’ was talking to Chris Bosh the man he hand-picked to be a reserve for the East team, which will be his first all-star appearance.

Chris would be playing with players which in some cases are much better than him on many occasions.
Of course Bosh is still early in his career, 3rd year to be exact.
Although Flip didn’t care what year anyone is in, he just cares about success which is mostly reasonable.

Bosh couldn’t careless, with Bosh on a losing team, the Raptors, time for Bosh went by slowly.
Once in awhile the Raps would have a spark, coming from Bosh, James, or the rookie Charlie Villanueva, who had a strong performance last night at the Rookie / Sophomore Game with 18 points, a high for the Rooks.

“Thanks, Flip, but I think I’m past the kid stage, aren’t I?”
Charlie Villanueva didn’t play like a kid last night, and I’m less of a kid than he is, thought Chris.

Shaquille O’Neal, the starting Power Forward for the East walks into the room.
“Not a kid, eh! That’s what they say in the Great White North, Don’t they,” Shaq said.
“Get out of here, Shaq, Dammit!” Chris said.
“Mr. Barney’s scared of a bit of competition, eh,” Shaq replied with a smirk.
“Oh, you 2 want a game for the starting spot, cause’
I don’t think I can arrange that,” Flip said.
The two wanted to go head to head against each other but they didn’t care a damn about the starting spot at the All-Star Game.

“It’s OK, Flip I just want to see if Mr. O’Neal here has his money where his mouth is,” Chris said sincerely.
You could see the evil grin on Shaq’s face, Chris felt like he could just punch him, a nice little jab at him, that’s it.
Chris wouldn’t do it, he couldn’t do it.
He wanted his revenge only one place in the world, and that place was the court.

That’s where his revenge would be, Flip set it up, one on one, head to head, win or bust, basketball game, that’s how Chris wanted it, that’s where Shaq could get hurt the most in Bosh’s mind.

Bosh had un, uno, yes ONE shot at Shaq, I mean here in Houston they were teammates, they would have to work together tomorrow but now, they were enemies, and after this they may be great friends.

Bosh got a shot at the three point line to start the game which will be first to 11.
This shot is for possession of the ball.
Clang! The ball bounced off the board into Shaq’s hands.
He passed the ball to Bosh.
Bosh checked the ball to Shaq, he came deep in the paint.
Bosh ran after him and took a swipe at the ball, if he could pull this off.. He did!
He swung his arm which was carrying the ball around Shaq and let go the off-balance hook shot.
It rolled around the rim, Shaq shouted “Nice try, It’s out!”
Jermaine tipped the ball out.
Flip blew the whistle that was around his neck, “Goaltending!” He shouted.

“What the hell are you thinking you idiot, why how can you call ‘THAT’ goaltending,” Shaq shouted.
“Technical Foul, Number 7, Shaquille O’Neal!” Flip shouted with another blow of the whistle.
“What the hell is that, idiot, you gave me a tech, lay off me you stupid car engine,” Shaq screamed.
“I’ll play your game only once, Get the ‘hell’ out of here, Shaq!” Flip blew the whistle.
“The second technical goes to Shaq O’Neal who is thrown out of the game, so the winner is Chris Bosh!”
To Chris that felt better than giving a jab, getting a guy angry, that was his goal, and when Flip or anybody else was around Chris knew he would be free from insult or injury at the All-Star Game.

That made him feel safe, and for Raptors fans that is a great reason to cheer for Chris Bosh, because he is safe.

Chris got a congrats from Flip Saunders and walked through the locker room, he could hear Allen Iverson say, “Congrats for getting Funny Face pissed.”
Chris turned on his heels, “Where is Shaq?” he said quietly, he was scared that Flip may think he would harass Shaq in all his misery, but all he wanted to do is say ‘Sorry,’
because in that way Chris was truly a nice guy.
“In the weight room, on a chair lifting some 25 pounders,
I think Dwyane’s in there too,” Allen replied.

Chris went into the hallway and turned a left into the weight room, in there was Shaq, Dwyane, and LeBron also.
“Wazzup, Chris,” LeBron said.
“Yo, Christopher,” Dwyane said.
Chris ignored these friendly remarks and sat down beside Jermaine.
“What’s up, Dog,” Chris made some barking noises.
Jermaine made a little smile.
“Yo, Barney,” Shaq said, although this time he said it in a nice way, like a nickname, not an insult.

When Chris came in he intended to say sorry, but Jermaine said the exact same thing Chris intended on saying, and Chris knew he didn’t have to say it.

“Damn you man, Shaq you are funny, now is that a 5 pound weight or a 25 pound weight,” Chris said.
“You know Chris, this stupid thing is a 5 pounder, LeBron!”
“I kid, I kid!” LeBron replied as they went to the local McDonald’s to harass the cashier and get some Hamburgers.
