Anyone know where I can find a ... wtf would you call this?

Anyone know where I can find a ... wtf would you call this?

Postby Cable on Tue Feb 14, 2006 12:36 pm

I'm looking for a program that will let me take parts of a song (hopefully .mp3 format) and save them as a new song; ex. if Song A is 10:00 long, a program that will let me create Song B, which would be from 2:00 to 5:00 of Song A. Is there something out there to do this?

I'm also looking for a recording program, something that will let me record media being played on my PC, if anyone knows of one.

Best program i've come accross so far for this is called "Cooledit". I've used it for recording my voice for mods...making custom soundtracks for "M.U.G.E.N" and for custom ringtones for my cell. Google it...have fun.

There's heaps of programs you could use...

ACID Pro, Vegas Sound, CoolEdit, well... i can't remember anymore. But you should be able to find something. (Y)

CoolEdit is probably your best bet.

You can even cut songs in iTunes

You set a starting time and a stopping time (when you right click on a song and click Get Info) and then you right click on it and "convert to mp3"

But that's if you're too lazy to d/l Coolediy

I'll put a second vote in for Audicity. Absolutely free and loaded with quality features.

Okay, I'll try Audicity and CoolEdit after I give the iTunes thing a try, I didn't know I could use it. It makes it a lot easier seeing as it's a podcast that I want to cut.

How do you get Mugen to work for windows? I remember playing it a shitload (had 100+ characters) but then after they changed to Linux, I haven't really played it.
Bored.

I doubt anyone can help me with this, but it's worth a try.

I've successfully used iTunes to cut the songs, but if I try to play them on my iPod, it won't list the artist, but rather the album and then the date it was made, same as a Podcast does. I know it's because I cut it from a Podcast, and I've tried to fix it without success. Is there some kind of hidden option that I can change so that it'll show the artist? Or if I use a different program will this still happen?

If you've already got Nero for burning CDs, it should come with Nero Wave editor, you can edit mp3s on it too.
