The sacramento Kings look forward to a brand new season. After being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Kings added a some new players including
Bonzi Wells,
Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and
Ron Artest. Each of these players are talented and should help this team succeed in the long run while trying to make it to the playoffs. This year the Kings focus on areas where they struggled last year like defense and rebounding. The Kings may add a few more personals in the future but GM Geoff Petrie said that he would like to work with this lineup first. He was also asked by the media on what this team’s expectations are and said, “this year we are a much different team than the past few years... Obvously we don’t have a player like Chris anymore who had a major role in the successs of the Kings passing system. But we do have new players like
Shareef and
Bonzi who are known for their rebounding and energy so we will try and build along that.”
Mike Bibby has also stated to many sources that he will step up and be the leader of this team since he has had the longest venture with the Kings.
Mike Bibby said, “I’m going to do what ever it takes to get this team to the playoffs, I think we have enough talent to that. We just have to work hard on defense and communicate. I know Petrie brought some defensive minded players on the roster and hopefully they will contribute and inspire the team to play better defense than we played last year.” The Kings may not be the same team that almost beat the Lakers in the western conference playoffs but should be a team that will make some noise in the Pacific division. This team will win 50 or more games ff this they maintain a healthy roster for most of the season.
