 News Flash: Mikki Moore Among Big Gainers At Clips Training Camp

After a week of hard work the Clippers are hopeful that this season is their first in a long run of winning seasons, and that soon they won't be the 2nd team in Los Angeles. It is speculated that 50% of the camp was spent on defense, and 50% on athletics as the clippers hope to play good team basketball this season.
The name that was most thrown around for improvement was Mikki Moore, a seventh year PF from Nebraska. The 7'0 225 pound Moore revealed to us that he always needs to improve on something because that's what keeps him playing. Moore says " For the longest time i've been known as a bench player, but i feel this year i may have a chance to be more then that...".

The Clippers first game is against the Boston Celtics Nov. 5th in Boston, and can be seen live on TNT

 BIG Trade News

Los Angeles, November 2nd

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to terms on a deal that is sending PG Shaun Livingston to the heat for PG Jason Williams, before either teams first regular season game. It is reported that the Clippers wanted a playmaker, and made a farely nice move here. The only downside to this trade for the Clippers is Williams' age, however they are hoping it doesnt play out to be a big factor. Both Jimmy Jams And Mike Dunleavy refused to comment on the trade. Williams will be in the starting lineup for the Clippers on the 5th when they travel to Boston

thanks, im a journalism student and i wanna get int sports writing.. so everything helps i guess

Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:53 pm

Omg..terrible trade. Shaun is a very good PG who is very young and going to be muchhhhhh better than J.Will. He also has amazing court vision and I'm sure you coulda trained him to a playmaker. I trained Telfair and he became a playmaker in my second year of the dynasty I think.

Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:54 pm

I agree with Malfa, terrible, terrible, terrible ass trade. Shaun is the man :headbang:

Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:54 pm

true, but think about it, the Clippers only get attention by winning in the present.. not the future

 Clips win in Boston, Williams Proves Doubters Wrong

LAC:86
BOS:76

Los Angeles, Nov 6th

Jason Williams had something to prove last night as many people thought that the trade to Miami for him wasn't worth losing rising star Shaun Livingston, however i believe the doubters now understand, after Williams put up 21 points, 12 assists, and 10 steals to give himself the first triple double of the season. Pierce led all scorers with 28, and Magette lead the Clipper charge with 25, 10 of which came in the final quarter.

After the game Williams said "I was just feeling it, i knew i had the hot hand and i just wanted the rock". Williams added "playing alongside Corey [Magette] and Elton [Brand] i knew my job here was going to be to get the ball into their hands, and I think I did a pretty good job of that, and also keeping the ball when needed"

The Clippers continue their road trip as they hit Cleveland on Nov.10th.

 Clips Lose Tough OT Battle With Cavaliers

LAC (1-1): 107
CLE (1-0): 109

Lebron James has a 48 point night helping his Cavaliers beat up on the Clippers in overtime. Give credit where credit is due though as the Clippers battled all game long but in the end just couldnt make the final shot to win the game. "Our guys fought hard and they wanted to win, but we just came up a little bit short, it happens in the NBA" commented head coach Mike Dunleavy. The Clippers leading scorer was Quitino Mobley with 24, including two threes to send the game to overtime, however was outshined by Lebron James' 48 point night and domination of the extra period. The most unnerving stat of the night is owned by Jason Williams, who had a triple double in the Clips first game. He had a 22 point night, but had 10 turnovers, two of which came in the extra frame springing Lebron James fast-break buckets. Williams refused to comment on his turnovers saying only that he was too "carless with them [his passes]"

The Clippers have a 6 day break before heading out to Indiana to face Jermaine O'neal and the Pacers.
