Good to see you starting back up, the trade you did was pretty good, it cleared roster space for one thing. Will this be another year that Iverson's take a bunch of shots, or will he be more of the AI that can shoot good from the field and his teammates will be alot better contributors?

Sixers lose out in high scoring season opener...

Image

Below: Udrih made an unspectacular debut for the Sixers and Iguodala's high-flying heroics were not enough to help his team to victory...
ImageImage

The match started out furiously for the home side, and with Allen Iverson on fire scoring the first 7 points of the game by himself, the Sixers gained a very early 9-2 lead, but it was not to last much. Under the scoring guidance of Redd and TJ Ford, Milwaukee reprised and made it 12-13 at mid-quarter. Yet another run led by Iverson, though, had Philly up by 10 at the end of the first quarter, 31-21
In the second, The Bucks attempted to balance things out and were succesful only during intervals. With Iguodala and Chris Webber carrying the offensive load while Ai was taking a breather on the bench, the Sixers distanced themselves further from their opposition, going up with a commanding 51-39 lead with 3 minutes to go until halftime. But that lead was not to last much, as a late quarter rally by Maurice Williams resulted in 7 straight points for him and a half-time scoreline of 57-49.
Third period of the game, and Philly still holds the reigns to this one, with Iverson scoring at crucial moments and the Iguodala - Webber tandem proving a productive second fiddle to AI's one man show. But Milwaukee would just not give up so easily. TJ Ford , in his first game after missing out a year and a half worth of playing action due to a spinal injury, was doing pretty much everything on the court, including shooting 3/4 from his new found three point range, helping his team cut the deficit down to 4, 81-77 at the end of the quarter.
In the fourth, there was alot of excitement and anxiety as the game winded down to a close. The Bucks went in with more swagger and actually managed to grab the lead for the first time, 81-82 , early in the quarter. With rookie big man Andrew Bogut and fellow Center Jamaal Magloire dominating the paint and the boards, the score was 91-97 at mid-quarter, and things looked increasingly ominous for the Sixers. The home team would not give up so easily, however, and with Iverson scoring in bundles and Iguodala making a pledge to himself to dunk over everybody that stood in his way, the game was once again even, 105-105, 2 minutes before the buzzer. And it remained tied at the end of regulation, too, 112-112, courtesy of a 28 footer by Kyle Korver with a few seconds left on the clock.

In the extra period, Michael Redd and TJ Ford took the Sixers by surprise, combining for 7 early unanswered points that inadvertedly tipped the scales toward's Milwaukee's favor. In the end, the Sixers could not muster the courage for a comeback, and this game went to the Bucks, 122-129.

Post-Game Quotes:

Allen Iverson on his performance: "T'was a fine game for the fans, but in the end, we just couldn't deliver. My game was good, yes, but those 9 turnover are hurting even now. I'll try to shore up my game for this team to get some wins, I promise you that."

Samuel Dalembert on his triple double: "I got a TD? Didn't know... I guess 10 blocks is a nice achievement, but winning is more important than any personal records. It would be something to enjoy had we won the game, that is for certain."

TJ Ford on his comeback to the courts after a long absense: Feels good, feels good... The game is my life, and I could not wait much more to go back in action. The injury is behind me, now, and I'm very pleased we chalked up our first W of the season on the road and in the season opener. This is going to be a good year for the Bucks, I have a good feeling."

Shitty loss man. High scoring affair but Bucks seemed to slip away with this one. Great game by Iverson and co. but Redd and Ford were too much for them I guess.

You had alot of turnovers man. 25-14. Iverson was one TO away from a Triple Double

Trade Jamal Mashburn. I don't like him. Hahaha. Good luck next game.

Tough loss but it's very realistic, I like that! Webber had a nice game, around his average. AI did his usual thing and Sammy got a TD. (Y) This Dynasty looks very good so far, I'll definitly follow! Keep it up.

Good start man, nice trade. Looking good so far, keep it up.

Thanks. Let's hope Beno can develop into something of value for the franchise. Better yet, let's hope he brings something significant to the table as early as this year. :P

Hopefully it'll be a combination of the two. Unless Webber gets injured again, that is. :|

Thanks. And thanks.

Yes, AI should step it up and take care of the ball better, for sure. As for Jamal, his 20 million due for two years and half a serviceable leg make him untradeable. Maybe I'll retire him.

Thanks. (Y) Good to have a Sixers fan on board. 8-)

They're my favourite team. Now where's the picture?

Tough loss, man. You need to take care of the ball. 9 TO's for AI?

About Ai, he's still getting warmed up. As for the pic, I value my bodily integrity too much to try that.
:P

No surprise here. It IS Allen Iverson, after all.

Typical AI night, 44 pts lol. You think he can beat out Kobe for scoring leader?

Seeing as though in Live the top scorers average about 27 - 28 ppg, that's a definite possibility.

What a return by TJ Ford! Shocked Tough loss.

Yup, TJ and Redd torched me. I didn't know Ford coudl shoot the 3 in Live.
