Your dynasty is amazing. Theres no other way to put it! (Y)

Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:16 pm

Nice dynasty. Really nice format.

Thanks, glad you like it.

ouch loss finally but its good now can u go on another winning streak

lol, well I'm still undefeated and I'm hoping I can get this one against the Cavs because it's hard beating a team twice in a row in just a matter of days.

That Arenas dunk against Sonics was SICK... nice!

Yea it seem like he was jumping from the FT line the way mark took the pic

good to see some losses, even if it was to Seattle

I'll check in when I can, despite the huge loading times

It seem like we basically playing the same teams though. We both played the Magic and we got the win and we both played the Sonics and I got the win, but he got the L. I didn't know our schedules were that much alike and Seattle is tough in this game. Sorry about all the pics and stuff lol, we might find another way to post the recaps because I know its horror for 56k'ers.

Your dynasty is amazing. Theres no other way to put it!

Thanks, the duo dynasty has worked out ALOT better than the previous dynasty we had going. It was just too much movement going around, but this has been working out perfect so far with alot of games being played already.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:53 pm

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

yeha i was supprised at the Arenas dunk, i think he took off just inside the line, i was just expecting a layup lol.

I can see this dynasty going far, the problem i had with keeping one going was that i cudnt find time to do all the recaps, pics etc, but it works in nice cos when Mafia has the game file i can do all the pics etc, plus i dont have to worry about writing my recaps well :P

Anyway Thanks for following guys (Y)

CLEVELAND, Nov. 11 (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers insist they're not going to quit when they get far behind this season. Lebron James scored a team-high 27 points and the Cavaliers had control almost the entire game and were able to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 109-99 in Cleveland. "It's a 48-minute game and we've talked about that," coach Mike Brown said after watching his team outscore the Grizzlies in the first and fourth quarter. "We just wanted to keep them from gaining any momentum because we know how tough this team is. That's exactly what we did." Donyell Marshall had 24 points for the Cavaliers off the bench, including 4-of-5 from downtown, while Pau Gasol topped the Grizzlies with 26 points and 7 rebounds despite being in foul trouble for most of the game. Zydrunas Ilgauskas added a double-double for Cleveland with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cavaliers were able to outrebound the Grizzlies 44-34 with two players getting double figures in rebounds. The Grizzlies tied the score at 90-90 on an 18-footer by Eddie Jones who shot just 4-20 from the field. Donyell Marshall and Lebron James back-to-back 3-pointers hurt the Grizzlies as Cleveland went up six points with just under 5 minutes left in the game and they never looked back. Lorenzen Wright of the Grizzlies said the Memphis players were to blame for the loss. "We have to play hard for all four quarters," he said. "In the fourth quarter, everything went haywire for us." Wright had a season-high in rebounds and points with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Spurs Box | Wizards Box

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (Ticker) -- Everything was going in for Manu Ginobili on a 27-point night, and only missing one shot throughout the entire game. With nothing going for former Finals MVP, Tim Duncan, as he shot 3-13 from the field for 9 points, the Spurs still were able to lock down Washington on the offensive end. In a game the hosts insisted might as well have been an under .500 team -- rather than a meaningful, show-how-good-we-are matchup against the reigning NBA champions -- Ginobili, Bruce Bowen and Tony Parker spurred their San Antonio Spurs to pull away early in the 2nd quarter and beat the Washington Wizards 104-78 on Saturday night. With an impressive variety of moves, from mid-range jumpers to stutter-step slices through the lane, Ginobili made 10 of 11 shots.

"When he gets going, he gets that European swagger," said Ginobili‘s teammate Bowen, who added 19 points and three rebounds. "The guy's unbelievable. I think he still doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He knows the more this team wins, the more recognition he gets." Wizards coach Eddie Jordan acknowledged, "We tried everybody on him -- and he was great." The Wizards tried nearly everybody on Duncan, it seemed, and he was far from great, missing 6 straight shots. Jordan said before the game he wouldn't double-team Duncan unless it became necessary, and he was true to his word, but they forgot about the gameplan against Ginobili.

"It was just a long night. Things happen, the season happens. Those guys played well tonight and they are the defending champions; give them credit for not taking us for granted," Arenas said.

Key Matchup: Pau Gasol vs. Al Harrington

Gasol has been having a star-studded year so far and he will have the oppurtunity to continue it against the Atlanta Hawks. Al Harrington won't be much of a contest to Gasol on the offensive end because of Pau's height and quickness. Harrington may be able to matchup with him on quickness, but once Pau recieves the ball in the paint, he won't be stopped. Expect Gasol to recieve plenty of double teams tonight from Atlanta which could end up giving the perimeter players a huge night from the field.

Key Matchup: Kobe Bryant vs. Eddie Jones

Everybody knows what Kobe Bryant is capable of. Jerry West was able to describe the play of Kobe Bryant and the exact moves he loves to do in certain situations to Eddie Jones in practice. He and Jones studied tape during practice and Jones told the media, "I'm going to give Kobe a run for his money." Jones has played agaisnt many great players in his pretty long NBA tenure and with the help of "The Logo", expect him and Battier to give Kobe trouble.

Yeah it was a dissapointing game, but Marks getting minutes eased the pain. Dunno about trading Atkins, if you look back he has been effective off the bench for me int he past few games, a back court of him and Arenas seems to feed off each other quite well.

I think Hughes might be playing with an Injury maybe, im not sure, i can check up for ya.

Lol I knew as soon as you saww it was Kobe coming up you'd get all excited, I dunno Mafia has some pretty decent defenders on his squad. :P

Tough losses for both of you

Very nice recaps and pics of course. Good luck against the Hawks and the Lakers

Tue Jan 17, 2006 3:16 am

Thanks for the feedback everybody, Hughes was injured in the previous game where I played the Cavs if I'm not mistaken and that's why he played so little minutes. Sit, I'm going to see what Kobe is going to do other than getting locked down

Grizzlies Box | Hawks Box

ATLANTA, Nov. 12 (Ticker) -- It wasn't about taking the Hawks easy. Shane Battier said he was going to do what he could to not let Memphis lose two straight games. Battier scored 27 points Saturday night to give the Memphis Grizzlies their sixth win of the season out of seven games, a 108-83 victory Saturday night over a plagued Atlanta Hawks team. Memphis had struggled with starting the game off very slow against the Cavaliers and putting themselves in a deep hole. "I told the guys, `We're not going to have an instant replay of the Cleveland game. If we get off to a good start, let’s keep the lead and not fallback,” he said. "And that is what we did."

The Grizzlies, who started the season with five straight wins had received their first loss of the season against Cleveland the night before. Memphis was expected to be tired after fighting hard in a tough loss, but it wasn’t meant to be. Damon Stoudamire added a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists for the Grizzlies. ZaZa Pachulia had 18 points and eleven rebounds for the Hawks, who only shot 37 percent. Memphis outscored the Hawks 34-16 in the first quarter and had a 14-point halftime lead. “We were looking for an early lead and we established that,” Grizzlies coach Mike Fratello said. “I think the lineup change this game also kind of helped us with Gasol playing at center.”

Memphis went with a small ball lineup, as they moved Mike Miller into the starting lineup and put Lorenzen Wright on the bench. It worked out both ways as Lorenzo was the leading scorer off the bench for Memphis with 8 points and 5 rebounds and Battier was able to match up well with Harrington at the power forward position. Initially, the original lineup was going to be inserted, but last minute changes put Wright on the bench and Miller at the starting small forward spot. Memphis will face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.

Lakers Box | Grizzlies Box

MEMPHIS, Nov. 14 (Ticker) -- Pau Gasol led a defensive effort which kept Kobe Bryant in check in the 2nd half and sent the Los Angeles Lakers home on a sour note. Gasol collected 32 points, 7 rebounds and four blocked shots as the Memphis Grizzlies posted an 114-99 victory over the Lakers. Memphis' defensive effort in the 2nd half allowed it to beat Los Angeles for the fourth straight time. "They played us tough," Bryant said. "They did this to us last year. They're a good team, and I knew it was going to be a roller-coaster night just like it was." A 14-4 run helped the Grizzlies gain a double-digit lead in the 4th quarter. Mike Miller, who finished with 14 points, had four points and two assists during the spurt.

"Coach (Mike Fratello) really had us ready for the triangle, for the 1-on-1s and the post-ups," Miller said. "He had us in position at all times. We just really have to take our hats off to the coach because he had us ready." The Grizzlies loss the rebounding edge to the Lakers 46-38, but still were able to go on a run in the 2nd half. "We came out and played an aggressive, spirit-filled third quarter and it enabled us to open up a lead," said Memphis forward Shane Battier who ended up with a sprain ankle late in the first half of the game and never came back, but still finished with 9 points.

"It was a goal of ours tonight to really come out and rebound," said Grizzlies center Lorenzen Wright, who had 16 boards off the bench. "We knew they had a good offensive rebounding team, so we wanted to everybody to come to the boards. We loss the battle, but we kept them out of their game plan with tough defense." The Lakers never held a lead throughout the game, and as close as they got was when they tied the game up at halftime.

UpComing Games:

ImageImage
Key Matchup: Caron Butler vs. Larry Hughes

This will be a very evenly matchup between these two G/F players. Butler has shown signs of being a major threat in some cases this season, Larry Hughes has been hurt for the last couple of games with back spasms. Team doctors said he would be able to play tonight, but there is no telling if he will be able to play starter minutes or not. Butler has the height advantage over Hughes, but Hughes has the athleticism over Butler.

ImageImage
Key Matchup: Damon Stoudamire vs. Steve Nash

Might Mouse may have a hard time keeping up with the fast pace Nash. Nash is averaging 18ppg and 9.3apg for the 5-1 Phoenix Suns. He has been bringnig a new pace to the Suns style of play since last season and now since the Suns are a more in-depth team, they will be even more dangerous to contend with this year. Stoudamire has been putting up very solid numbers for the Grizzlies with 17ppg and 8apg, so don't expect Damon to back down from the former MVP.
