...STARTING LINEUP...

PHX STARTING LINEUP

PRE SEASON SCRIMMAGES

The start of Phoenix's pre-season training began today as the doors of America West Arena opened to all the Pheoenix Sun's faithful. The main attraction being the the squad scrimmage between TEAM NASH & TEAM STOUDEMIRE. Most players are playing for contracts but the majority players competing for reasonable playing time and even a starting lineup.
Coach Mike D'Antoni stated "Their are a couple of lineups that would still be up for grabs but in the end were just going to play the best players and players who jell real well together"

no doubt the difference about the two players but i want to place Marion back into his natural position in SF and im wanting to use Diaw more because in previous games hes been real effective but we'll see how everything goes.

TEAM STOUDEMIRE TRIUMPHS AS HOUSE & STAT STAR

Postby King James #23 on Sat Jan 14, 2006 10:40 pm

With Team Nash having 3 starters on their team, everyone expected it to be a one sided game but Team Stoudemire did more then keep up when they caught up with Nash's team in the 3rd quarter reducing their 16 point lead to 4 deep into the 4th quarter...

IN-DEPTH 4TH QUARTER REPORT
Team Stoudemire whittled away Nash & Co's lead with Eddie House who squared up against Nash himself, hitting 4 from 4 from downtown late in the 3rd quarter which set them up for a 4th quarter run. Amare sparked his team by backing up Kurt Thomas deep into the post and posterizing him on several occasions, when double teamed Amare put his playmaking skills to work and dished off to Marion who went 3 from 5 from the 3pt line.

The shining light for Team Nash was Boris Diaw, the frenchman went to work on Shawn Marion and he showed everyone he was the real deal. Diaw neared a triple double with 14 Pts, 9 Rebs, 9 Assts and showcasing his defensive skills with 3 Stls & 2 Blks, but the main attraction being the 22 year old superstar Amare Stoudemire, he showed why he was voted an all-star last year by putting up a STAT line every coach would be proud of.

The talent of Stoudemire & Marion with the mix of quick wingmen Jimmy Jackson & James Jones with House the 3pt specialist manning the point, the Stoudemire team made a 19-3 run and killed of any chances of Nash's squad taking the lead.

KEY STATS

A. STOUDEMIRE| 31 POINTS | 11 REBOUNDS | 6 ASSISTS | 3 BLOCKS
S.NASH| 23 POINTS | 11 ASSISTS | 3 STEALS
E.HOUSE| 6 FROM 8 3PT LINE | 5 ASSISTS |
B.DIAW| 14 POINTS | 9 REBOUNDS | 9 ASSISTS |

IMHO I wouldn't call Diaw a bench warmer....13, 7 & 6 in real life and the kid is improving....very poor man's Magic :P

as for the poll, I'd put Marion at PF as I'd prefer Diaw on the wings....however, on the flipside you migh want Diaw to matchup defensively against the opposing team's PF....just a thought....

good luck with the high octane Suns

MAJOR TRADE ACCEPTED

Postby King James #23 on Mon Jan 16, 2006 12:13 am

TRADE ACCEPTED

ImageImage

The Phoenix Suns have maybe made one step closer to the championships easier by recieving one of the most exciting lottery draft picks in this years draft, while Atlanta recieved the veteran interior defender they desperately needed.

2nd Overall draft pick Marvin Williams was sent packing to PHX, while the Suns gave away Kurt Thomas and clearing up cap space along the way.
Both camps are very happy & excited with the trade.
