Pau Gasol has been one of the best blockers in the league and this will be a tough task against Gustave Hobb. Hobb is a better rebounder but Pau can shoot better than Hobb.

Recap
In the first quarter of this game, it was an equalily matched game on the offensive side of the ball and the defensive side of the ball. As halftime approached, Kyle Korver had a minor injury but came right back in at the start of the 3rd. By the end of 3, the score was 68-66 in favor of Charlotte. The Celtics only beat out the Bobcats by 2 in the 4th quarter of this game and it was tied up at the end of regulation. Into overtime it went and Vince Carter just took over scoring 12 of the 15 points as the Bobcats cruised to a 103-94 overtime victory. Tony Parker played a great game as he scored 23 and dished out 10 assists. Vince Carter was a nice supporter as he pitched in 22 points. The best performer for the Bobcats was Gustave Hobb though. He scored 17 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the win. For the Celtics, Pau Gasol had 22 points and 14 rebounds in a good effort. Paul Pierce also had a nice game as he scored 24 points, picked up 6 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and took away 4 steals.

Key Match-Up

Image
In this match-up, it is Kobe Bryant vs. Paul Pierce. This will be a battle of the superstars as both of them are premier players.

Recap
It was almost the exact same score of the last game Boston played Washington. It was surprising that Boston would lose two games only combining for 148 points in the two games. In the first it was all Boston, but they collapsed in the 2nd and 3rd until in the 4th they finally got their act together. They still didnt win though. They lost only by 7, but your not going to win a game by scoring 76 points. Kobe Bryant played very well socring 24 points. Darius Miles and Gavin Parton both had double-doubles as D-Miles had 13/11 and Parton had 13/15. For Boston, Kyle Korver was totally shut down scoring 0, yes 0 points! Baron Davis and Andrew Bogut played terrible only scoring a combined 11 points. The only bright spot for the Celts was Paul Pierce and Pau Gasol. Pierce had 29/11 while Gasol had 26/11.

Rashard Lewis will be a match-up of two very good scorers. Rashard and Paul are evenly matched and they will both score a load of points.

Recap
Another loss for the Celtics! They just don't have the right chemistry. Any combonation of players will not help them get through this skid. Right now the only player that you can count on to be consistent every night is Paul Pierce. Anyways, in the first quarter Boston leapt out to a 23-21 lead as Bogut provided 8 of those points. In the second, both teams evenly matched each other, but Lewis went off and couldn't miss a shot. He had 21 comming into halftime. After the Celtics had a talk in the locker room about how to stop Rashard, they only held him to 14 points the rest of the game. The third belonged to Boston as they won in every stat catagory in the quarter. Gasol played extra well as he had all three of his blocks in the third. Comming into the fourth, it looked as if the Celtics were going to pull away with their first win in eight days. But, the Grizzlies would not go down without a fight. A good fight it was as the Grizzlies made shot after shot and made stop after stop on defense. It looked grim for the Celtics as the closing seconds ended resulting in a 91-86 loss. Rashard Lewis had an unbelievable game scoring 35 and shooting 6-7 from beyond the arc. The rookie Nkosi Bogues played exceptionally well scoring 19 and pulling down 9 boards. For the Celtics, Paul Pierce scored 22 on a shaky shooting night. Gasol and Bogut played well inside along with a nice spark off the bench from Toby Cairns who led the team in rebounding with 11.

trade

Postby KIG1 on Mon Jan 16, 2006 4:22 am

Trade Offered
Today the Celtics offered a trade to the Sacramento Kings. The trade offered looked like this:

Boston Trades
1. Baron Davis
2. Kyle Korver
3. Toby Cairns

Sacramento Trades
1. Andre Iguodala
2. Cedric Gaston
3. Vince Edgar

Andre Iguodala right now is ranked a 91 and could have definatly filled the roll of shooting guard. Gaston is a point guard and is just rated a 74, but he has only been in the league for only four years and is getting better every year. Vince Edgar is rated a 56 and he would have just been cut from the team.

The Trade was Declined

Pau Gasol has a huge edge in this match-up versus Jermaine O'Neal. The rematch between teams will defantly be a good one.

Recap
A rematch from last night, Boston finally bought a game to win. In the first quarter it was the game like yesterday. Memphis and Boston both played very well but Boston pulled out 25-20 after 1 quarter. In the second quarter it was all Paul Pierce with rebounds. He collected 8 rebounds in the second along with 6 points. At half the score was 51-46, Boston and things were looking good for them. At the start of the third the Celtics came out firing scoring on their first three possetions. They totally dominated the Grizz on the defensive side of the ball and the Grizzlies shot a poor percentage. In the fourth, Korver came in for Iwanaka most of the quarter and played pretty well shooting 1-2 from three and grabbing 2 rebounds. The Celts kept playing like they had been and in the end, the Boston faithful came out victorius. The Celtics were despratly in need for a win and got one. Pierce played very well and scored 22 points along with 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Pau Gasol also had a good game scoring a game high 23 points and gathering up 4 blocked shots. Haji Iwanaka provided a spark shooting the basketball as he shot 3-6 from the field and 2-2 from three. He had 11 points. For the Grizzlies, the best part of their game was the bench, who scored a combined 22 points and were led by Jonathan Bender and Abeeku Rhodes. Rashard Lewis was shut down by Pierce as he only shot 8-17 from the field and 1-7 from beyond the arc.
