History

2005-2006
The Offseason began with a spectacular news a complete NBA Draft! All the players gathered to a one court for a special night to decide where the players go. Houston got the 10th pick and drafted a great team which will defend the honor of the Houston Rockets this upcoming 2005-2006 NBA season.

All your questions

TNT`s Kenny 'The Jet" Smith invited Houston Rockets` head coach Jeff Van Gundy to the TNT studio to talk about the Rockets.

Kenny Smith: Hello and we are here live with Houston Rockets` head coach Jeff Van Gundy.
Jeff Van Gundy: Hello.
KS: So coach Jeff, could you tell me what do you think about your current team?
JVG: Well I can tell that I really like it, LeBron is fantastic, Gooden is amazing in his rebounds, Samuel in his deffense, Smith is great, well I like everything.
KS: Do you think you could draft a better team?
JVG: Well I think we drafted one of the best teams in the NBA right now. Of course everyone would want to have the Pacers which Drafted Kevin Garnett Larry Hughes and gave 3 players to get Tracy McGrady. Just fantastic that they have such an explosive lineup.
KS: What are the minuses and pluses in your team.
JVG: Well the biggest minus probably is the shooting we don`t have a very trusted shooter, of course James, Deron and JR can shoot from the arc and LeBron is a fantastic shooter in mid-range, but still it`s a minus. Another would be an individual it`s Deron's athletics. He is a little overweight by his position and his height and hasn`t got the quickness and the speed like other point guards do, but we will work on that. Hmm... Oh and another minus would be Murray's self-fishness, we will try hard to make it a plus. Everything else is a plus.
KS: What do you like the most in James?
JVG: Well almost everything he can shoot, pass, dunk well everything.
KS: Ok. What are the best teams in the NBA right now?
JVG: I would say Indiana, Atlanta, Los Angeles Lakers, maybe Memphis and us.
KS: Thank you for your answers, and thank you fans for watching us. Tune in TNT when Rockets make their season opener and do forget to vote for your all-stars.

Nuggets` poor 3’s bringed them to a loss

Image

Houston won

The Game

1st quarter
Denver begun the quarter crashing Houston with a 11-0 run. But Rockets woke up and narrowed the gap to 2 points in 2 minutes left in the first quarter. JR was a surprise for the Nuggets. Houston wasn`t able to stop Camby as it was wanted. At the last seconds of the quarter Rockets fouled and Harrington got only 1 of 2 three-throws, Songaila rebounded it, passed to Nacioni who took the shot from half court and made it to narrow the gap to 3.
2nd quarter
Houston was better In the second taking the lead in the beginning. James made 2 three pointers and Gooden helped really a lot in rebounds. They got a solid 12 point lead, but Denver wasn`t even thinking about surrendering. They fired up and took back the lead to end the 2nd.
3rd quarter
At the beginning of the 3rd Rockets struggling a bit and could not come explosive like in the second, but Denver wasn`t showing a good stuff either. Then the quarter was in the middle both teams woke up and started scoring fast points. Deron made 10 points in the third to hold the Rockets.
4th quarter
Rockets were playing really great offensively and defensively in the last quarter to take the tie. They studied Denver’s three-point abilities and Nuggets made only 1 in the hole game! They were shooting very poorly while Houston took the lead and extended it to 6 points. And in the last minute Nuggets very really poor, their coach was really un-happy.

Easy win? Not a chance…

Houston lost

The Game

1st quarter
Houston started really fired up. In a 9-2 run they shutted down the crowd for a while. Sacramento was battling. Houston was doing everything for the win, isolating Nene, Watching snipers, superb defense. The quarter ended and everyone was thinking that it will be an easy win for the Rockets`.
2nd quarter
Probably the worst quarter in Houston Rockets history, they could only score 12 points, Sacramento used this Rockets` weakness and fired up to get the lead. Drew Gooden was holding the team from destruction.
3rd quarter
By the help of Drew Gooden and JR Houston managed to get back the lead, but not for long. Nene was unstoppable scored all of his 18 points in the third and Sacramento was really powered up.
4th quarter
Houston really wanted to win and began the quarter with a 10-2 run. It seemed that they woke up and Sacramento is dead, but no Sacramento shocked everybody with superb offense and in the last seconds James didn`t make a three-pointer for the tie. Then they fouled,Sacramento got 1of 2 , Gooden caught the ball, but the last shot was no good.
