Thanks for the comments everybody, got another set of games posted. Memphis is going to have a back-to-back and play before the Wizards in the 2nd game so there will be another update coming with just two Memphis games and then the next update should have a Wizards/Memphis update or a Wizards/Wizards update.

Sonics Box | Grizzlies Box

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, Nov. 8 (Ticker) -- Shane Battier isn't the kind of player who thinks about taking control of a game. He just plays hard and hopes things happen. "I'm not good enough to say: 'I'm going to take over the game.' There are few guys who are," the Memphis Grizzlies forward said. "But most basketball players start making a few jumpers and a couple of moves, and you start feeling good confidence-wise. You play a lot looser and the game just comes a lot more natural to you." Battier took that approach Tuesday night as he finished with 18 points and Pau Gasol, Damon Stoudamire and Eddie Jones scored 23, 22 and 21 points to spark a second and third quarter spurt to lead the Grizzlies to a 109-94 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics. Battier scored 14 of his 18 points in the 2nd half and 8 in the 3rd quarter helping Memphis build its lead to 85-69 to begin the final period. Meanwhile, Jones had 10 in the quarter which Memphis closed with a 10-4 run.

"We moved the ball well, and we were making the right plays on offense and also playing pretty good defense," Gasol said about the spurt. "The best thing is that we were able to beat Seattle, one of the top offensive teams in the league and holding them to 38% from the field.. That's pretty impressive." The win was the fourth straight for Memphis, and gave the Grizzlies (4-0) their best four game start in franchise history. It also snapped a six-game losing streak to the Sonics, who had won five straight in Memphis. Lorenzen Wright added 9 points and 11 rebounds for the Grizzlies and Brian Cardinal had 7 off the bench. Ray Allen led the Sonics (0-3) with 22 points, but went ice cold in the 2nd half only make two shots. Rashard Lewis had 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Seattle, which got no closer than 13 points in the final quarter, shot 32 percent from downtown to go along with the 38% from the field. Ray Allen shot 6-24 which helped bring their percentage down. "Well, you saw the game, we stunk," Seattle coach Bob Weiss said. "Thirty-two-of-85 shooting. We were trying to force things, and it's been a trend with us." The Seattle starters combined for 25-73 shooting. "We just started getting too individual," Allen said. "We're playing individual basketball and not helping each other score. On the other end the Grizzlies were doing that." Memphis will travel to Boston and go on a 3-game east coast road trip visiting the Cavaliers, then Hawks after playing at Boston.

Grizzlies Box | Celtics Box

BOSTON, Massachusetts, Nov. 9 (Ticker) -- Pau Gasol has been playing at another level this season average career-highs in points, rebounds, assists and blocks and one thing he had a problem with last year was making big shots down the stretch. He changed that tonight. Gasol made a short jumper as time expired, and Eddie Jones scored 22 points as the Grizzlies overcame an 12-point deficit from the 2nd quarter to beat the Boston Celtics 99-98 Wednesday night. After Ricky Davis jumper gave the Celtics a one-point lead with 7 seconds remaining, Memphis fed the ball into Gasol from inbounds and as he drove baseline, he turned back the other and went up with a short jumper over Al Jefferson.

"Gasol is their main guy and we knew it was going into him," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "But at the same time, we knew he could pass the ball out to an open man if we doubled. We didn‘t want to take a chance no double teaming him." Davis finished with a game-high 35 points and Paul Pierce added 23 for the Celtics, who were 7-for-18 from 3-point range. "We've been burned several times this season already," Pierce said. "Most of our games have been close and came down to the wire, and unfortunately it happened once again."

Damon Stoudamire led the Grizzlies in the assist category with 11 to go along with 17 points and small foward Shane Battier had 16. Stoudamire had a key 3-pointer and a jumper in the 2nd quarter to help cap a 26-10 run for the Grizzlies in the 3rd quarter. "We had a bunch of missed opportunities in the game," Ricky Davis said. "If we would‘ve had a good 3rd quarter, we could‘ve ended up getting this game without any major problems." Raef Lafrentz added 14 points on 5-5 shooting for Boston off the bench. The Grizzlies (5-0) continue to roll through the beginning of the season and they have now made history with their best start in franchise history.

Key Matchup: Corey Maggette vs. Jared Jeffries

Jared Jeffries has been trying to adjust to the starting role with the Wizards and he finally had one of his better scoring outings with 15 points, but still shot 6-15 from the field. He also played pretty big down the stretch for the Wizards against Orlando. Maggette will have the speed advantage over Jeffries and he loves to take the ball strong to the rack and draw the foul. His jumpshot is also pretty solid. He is averaging 19.5ppg, 8.3rpg and 4.5apg in 4 games with the Clippers.

Thanks for both comments, at this rate, it seems like we could be meeting each other in the Finals

lol, thanks this was just a Grizzlies update since I had two games before Mark's next game. The next update will be two Wizard games because both of his games is before my next game against the Cavs. Hope everyone enjoy!

I'm assuming the game will be simmed, or if it's a home-and-away series, Mark plays as Wizards against CPU Grizzlies when the game is in Memphis and vice-versa for when game is in Washington....

Those who know me should know by now that i'm usually reserved in my word choices and expressions, so you know how I feel about this combo dynasty effort. Plus it was looking a little odd without Mafia and Mark in the dynasty section. Keep up th egood job guys, I'll be joining you regularly soon. (Y) (Y) (Y)

Thanks Heiks, I don't think we face each other for awhile, probably like in February or something so its going to a while

Thanks zmac, I'm loving the presentation in your Cavs dynasty too. And X was right about how we will do the games, especially since its only 2 games we play against each other, I will play like the home game and he will his home game or something like that. If we ended up meeting each other in the Finals, we will do something to determine who plays game 1 and then we just switch up games for however long the series last.

This looks absa-fucking-lutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! lol, I like absa-fucking-lutely, never seen it typed out like that before  Thanks alot for the compliment and as you can see, we are already playing more games than we did in the trinasty lol, we are going to try and keep this pace up for most of the season.

Oh yeh, I just noticed how on target the shoes are...

Yea I got it from some guy, but I don't think it was him. It was the guy lookvod and here is the link: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32215.php

Alot of people were saying they had trouble putting his shoes into their dynasty, but when I put my shoesacc.dbf in my dynasty folder it ended up working for me for some reason.

Thanks, but I hope I can get the Cavs again, I just played them and won kinda big so its going to be hard to put up the same performance against them.

Yea, I don't know what went on with the name change

Nope, I could resist picking my Grizzlies  And this is Mark's dynasty too, we basically do different things to make it all come together. HE is the graphic artist, and I'm the writer and when we have an idea we talk about it. The reason why I post most of the updates is because I do the recaps and stuff, but if its not like a recap being done or anything Mark would post unless he wants to do recaps

Wizards rebound in fourth, beat Clippers in OT

Bottom Left: Jamison getting the one hand dunk to tie the game up at 99-99 in regulation Bottom Right: Livingston throwing the alley-oop to Brand

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (Ticker) -- The Wizards came into the game thinking it would be a cakewalk, until the Clippers showed that they meant business. Washington was down 74-62 to start the 4th quarter and the team was staggered by the play of the Clippers. “They have a great group built around Corey Maggette and Elton Brand right now,” said Wizards coach Eddie Jordan. “With Cassell and Mobley added on to the team, they are a much tougher team and I told the guys this wasn’t going to be an easy game.” The Clippers were ahead for mainly the entire game not letting the Wizards go on any type of run until the 4th quarter.

The margin really never changed during the 4th quarter with the Wizards getting it down to six points, but Los Angeles would move the lead back up to double digits instantly. However, with 47 seconds remaining, Washington was down 97-94 due to some clutch shots from backup point guard Chucky Atkins and Gilbert Arenas. Arenas came off a screen to drain a big 3-pointer to tie the game up at 97-97. On the next Clippers possession, Corey Maggette scored off an alley-oop pass from teammate Cassell to regain the lead 99-97. Washington quickly inbounded the ball and passed it up court to Antawn Jamison who slammed it home to tie the game once again at 99-99 with just 22 seconds remaining. Both teams couldn’t convert on their final possessions which led to an overtime period.

The first 4 minutes of overtime, the teams basically traded baskets until there were 40 seconds left in the extra period with Butler making a tough floater on a fast break that put his team up 111-109. On the other end of the court, Arenas fouled Maggette and he went to the line to nail both free throws tying the game up at 111-111 with 30 seconds left. Washington missed on their next possession, and the Clippers took it up the court to set up a play, however Jarvis Hayes stoled the ball from Mobley and called a timeout with 5 seconds left. Out of the timeout, Washington fed the ball to Atkins, who dribbled around a screen and passed it to Arenas. Arenas stepped into his shot and drained a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds on the clock. “We wanted Arenas to take the last shot, but we knew they were going to be looking for him to get the ball so we had to give it to someone else to get the offense started,” Coach Jordan said. The Clippers had 1.1 to get a shot off from full court since they had no timeouts remaining, but they weren’t able to attempt a shot. Washington now has extended their record to 4-0.

Sonics Box | Wizards Box

WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 (Ticker) -- Rashard Lewis dominated the Wizards defense and had some defense on his own coming up with 5 steals, two shy of his career-high. Lewis scored 29 points on 12 of 22 shooting and grabbed 7 rebounds, and the Seattle Supersonics handed the Wizards their first loss of the season with a 112-105 victory Friday night. "They've got some very talented guys who aren‘t afraid to bang, so I was having to fight for position ALOT," Lewis said. "I was hitting my shots, but I had to fight for every one. "Coach was calling my number. If he keeps calling those plays, I'm going to keep putting up big numbers, for sure." Ray Allen finished with 21 points and Vladamir Radmanovic had a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards.

The talk in the Sonics' locker room, however, was about Lewis. "You know what his game was tonight, it was spectacular," Allen said. "He did mainly everything tonight especially when some of my shots weren‘t falling. That's what great players do. "I know it's only our fourth game in, but I think this is an opportunity this year for him to make the All-Star team again cleanly without all the dilly-dally. We just need to keep playing good team ball and tonight was probably a sign of good things to come." One thing that really hurt the Wizards throughout the entire game was the play of Antawn Jamison. He didn’t make a single field goal shooting 0-11 from the field and only made 4 points, but grabbed 11 rebounds. "We didn't play real smart and I was having a terrible night,” Jamison said.

Gilbert Arenas once again led the team with 38 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. “We lost period, we just didn’t make the plays down the stretch and we let them make a big run on us during the 3rd quarter,” Arenas said. Caron Butler added 25 points and 6 rebounds for the Wizards. Washington also committed a season-high 29 turnovers to the Sonics. “We were very sloppy out there tonight with the ball and it seems like we let the Sonics take the ball from us anytime they wanted,” Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. In the 4th quarter, Atkins and Arenas were able to tie the game up with back-to-back 3-pointers at 98-98 with 4:50 remaining, but the Sonics made another run to close out the game.

PREVIEWS WILL BE UP LATER...ENJOY!

Key Matchup: Shane Battier vs. Lebron James (PART II)

This will be the 2nd matchup against these two players within' just a few days. In the first matchup, Lebron James dominated statistic wise, but Battier did more for his team in terms of getting the win as well. Battier had a season-high 29 points and shot 4-6 from downtown to help Memphis beat the Cavs 107-100. Lebron finished with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Expect the matchup to be even more intense than before with the Cavaliers trying to give the Grizzlies their first loss of the season.

Image 3-3 @ Image 4-1

ImageImage
Key Matchup: Tim Duncan vs. Antawn Jamison

The power forward matchup can either hurt the Wizards tremendously or help them. It will be up to Jamison to take advantage of his quickness against Duncan, but if he gets caught up in the Spurs hardnose defense, this game could get ugly. Duncan is averaging 21.2ppg, 10.5rpg and 2.3bpg for the .500 Spurs, while Jamison is averaging 22.4ppg and 12.8rpg for the 4-1 Wizards. Jamison is coming off a horrible game against the Seattle Supersonics, finishg with 4 points on 0-11 shooting. He is expecting to try and overcome that bad game against San Antonio. Look for Duncan to get many touches.
