Best way to test your cropping job. Put it over a black background, check it for flaws; put it over a white background, check for flaws; and then put it over a 50% grey background (a pre-set in 'Fill'), check for flaws. Then if you know what type of background you're putting it on, try doing it for that colour too, ie. putting something over a reddish background, try a red background. Unless you are a complete moron you should be able to tell.
