I'd prefer Gooden over Garrity in that lineup anyday.

Jermaine
Gooden
Hill
T-Mac
Vaughn/Armstrong

another thing is
who will magic draft???
i reckon kirk hienrich would right in to play some point

Well I was assuming they'd have to give up Gooden in a sign and trade along with maybe Declerq. I haven't research those numbers so they may be wrong.
If kirk is avaivable I can't see Orlando passing him up. He is a solid point guard right now and give him 2 or 3 more years and he could be something special IMO

I like that lineup, but as Matthew said, Gooden is probably a player the Pacers would want if they were to agree to a sign and trade deal involving Jermaine. I'm still skeptical that the Pacers would agree to a sign and trade deal with the Magic though, since O'Neal probably wouldn't take a pay cut to sign there - more likely, if he were to leave Indiana without the Pacers getting anything in return, he'd opt for the Spurs, as they can offer him more money. I remember reading in PBT that he does consider money an issue - so his options are Indiana, San Antonio, and sign and trade with Orlando.

I don't see any young player taking a pay cut simply to spite his former team for not complying with his wishes about the head coach, or refusing to work out a sign and trade deal.

I think the magic would draft Barbosa (i forgot his first name). He's a 6-4 200-pound pointguard. He would give the magic some size in the backcourt.

I read something that may be good news for the possibility of O'Neal going to Orlando.

Apparently, Grant Hill's fourth ankle operation may keep him out for the entire 2003/2004 season. While that's bad news for Hill, the Magic will apply for the injury exception should that be the case. The article suggested it would be enough to sign a good player to play alongside T-Mac. Depending on what happens with Isiah Thomas, it might be Orlando's ticket to getting O'Neal without surrendering talent to Indiana.

On a side note, can an injury exception be used in conjunction with the MLE (to make a larger offer), or must the two be used seperately? If Orlando could combine the two, then they'd surely have enough to bring O'Neal in for a few years, with Bird rights kicking in after three years, T-Mac convinced to stick around, and maybe even a healthy Grant Hill.

Of course, that's still possible even if Orlando can't combine the MLE and injury exception - Jermaine would just have to come at a cheaper price.

Could Orlando at least offer Jermaine O'neal 10 million a year? I believe he's currently at 6 million.

He's an athlethic guy but they said that he needs to improve his jumpshot. But overall a good player.
