The start of pre season training has begun for the Indiana Pacers and coach Rick Carlisle and he has admitted there has to be a few changes made around the starting lineup.
He stated "We have been impressed with numerous players in the squad and were pleased that everyone is pushing for a start", asked if there were any players that had stood out indivually, he replied "Jonathan Bender impressed us by showing he could hold down the center role against leader Jermaine O'Neal in the squad scrimmages, so if he stayed healthy we could have a great inside combination with him & Jermaine working together"
Team chemistry this year will be a big issue with the pacers, as the Ron Artest saga continues, Jermaine O'Neal stated "As the team leader, we decided that we have to all work better together so we can all acheieve the one thing were looking for, a championship"

ESPN PACER WATCH: J.O. MVP MATERIAL?
When MVP talks are happening the usual suspects always come up
KG, Kobe, A.I, T-Mac & Shaq. What about J.O?
So the question all pacer fans wonder is "Where Is Jermaine O'Neal?"
O'Neal's abilty to put up double double numbers every game, having the leadership role left by Reggie Miller and representing and being the heart of the Pacer's squad surely deserves some kind of consideration.
The question is will everyone around the league notice?

INDIANA VS ORLANDO RECAP
BOX SCORE: INDIANA 102 DEF. ORLANDO 91
IND 21 34 29 18 102
ORL 24 27 23 17 91
1ST QUARTER
Grant Hill started well by causing Ron Artest and the pacers defense to play more intense as he converted on the fast breaks led by magic PG Jammer Nelson. Indiana started to turn it on late in the last quarter as rookie Danny Granger put back a ferocious dunk that capped off the pacers 8-0 run. As scores were tied, in the final minute Steve Francis launched a buzzer beater 3 that led Orlando into the lead for the 2nd Quarter.
ORLANDO BY 3
2ND QUARTER
Jermaine O'Neal went into the 2nd Quarter leading from the front he started the pacers assualt by blocking Dwight Howard twice in a row and crashed the boards on numerous occasions, in the highest scoring quarter of the game, Ron Artest was showcasing his fearless offensive side by driving to the hoop and dunking on Kelvin Cato & Dwight Howard. The highlight of the quarter, Danny Granger driving to the hoop and finishing while getting the and one.
INDIANA BY 7
3RD QUARTER
Orlando valiantly tried to win back the momentum but Indy asserted themselves and played great defense with Ron Artest getting 3 steals, Jaamal Tinsley 2 and O'Neal getting 3 blks and 1 stl. Jameer Nelsons' shooting problems continued with him only making 3 for 9 from the field and 0 for 2 from the 3 point line. Orlando's chances of winning getting slimmer.
INDIANA BY 9
4TH QUARTER
With Indiana still in the lead, orlando threw everything they had at them and kept coming, with Grant Hill showing some of his detroit reminscient dunks, one particularly over 7"0 Jonathan Bender. No one could stop Jaamal Tinsley over in the 3 zone as he got hot with 2 from 2 from 3 point land.
