though manu was out still very good win by the pistons. Holding the spurs to 8 points in the first quarter is quite good. Pistons chances of a championship look good.. not sure if miami can answer :(

what's the chances of 70??

they 22-3.. keeping this pace they will be 44-6.. 66-9 w/ 7 left

They have a good chance at 70 dependent on no serious injuries or long losing skid.

I think when Manu returns, the Spurs will be just as good as the Pistons. He was instrumental in their championship run last year.

I agree with you on that one. There were many times in that game where I felt the Spurs needed some desperate points but Manu wasnt there to get those for them. Besides from Parker there wasnt really any player getting good penetration.

indeed but it's still early. This game somewhat validates the start Pistons have but doesn't mean anything has happened.

in the nxt 7 days they play Miami & Cleveland.

Even if it's in front of two guys he jumps so high on fadeaways it doesn't matter. He's got so many resources, it's easy for him to take 35 shots. If I was his teammate, I wouldn't care."

All i wanna say right now is Larry who?

i blame him for last season failures. What he said aside, and the games he missed aside, he failed to develop the bench. That inevitably cost the team big time as they ran out of gas late in that Miami series (especially Prince & Ben). Yet he had some useful tools he could have utilised during the season.

Under Flip, Arroyo is playing with confidence as the shackles are off his ankles, and Carlos Delfino looks better too (although he was injured last season, LB managed to bitch at him to the media). He's not settling for shots but he's attacking the hoop and keeps the D on it's toes. (plus he had that sick ass reverse Kobe style)

Things are good.

saunder isn't exactly developing his bench. the player rotations are more or less the same as brown's. and arroyo is getting more minutes since hunter is out.

and then there's that bench ornament darko...

Alright fellow DP fans.....what do you think the Pistons need at this point.

Carlos Arroyo looks pretty good out there and with our best perimeter defensive player back for the playoffs we should be set @ PG. The biggest issue would be with our big men. Dale Davis is obviously capable but it'd be nice to have a ready-to-go 5th man. Maxiell is a rookie, and Milicic looks like he doesn't wanna play anymore after a promising beginning. He's obviously talented, but you gotta question his work ethic.

It'd still be good to limit starters minutes....cutting off 2mpg would be huge. Sure they'd lose some games but the most important thing is to be healthy & fresh in the playoffs....not drained like against SAS.

he goes out there to play and just loafs around, he doesnt even want to be there. and it isnt just in garbage time, in the start of the season he did sweet fuck all in his time during the 2nd quarter or watever
we should trade him while people still think he has value, he will never be any better than 10-7, if he is lucky.

I'll disagree....i think he'll be a 15-8 2bpg game, maybe even better. Just not on this team. It occurred to me that he won't get any better unless he receives plenty of playing time....something he won't get.

Al Harrington, J O'Neal, P Brezec, B Simmons and others got to realise their potential after getting plenty of playing time in new teams and got to live through their mistakes. Before that they were stuck in limbo.

If Milicic is out on the court, i'd stick him alongside Rasheed who is like our 2nd PG on court and get him more involved in the offense, like a touch inside early on the clock.

It seems odd to me that after that Miami game "experts" said that it's Miami's series to lose. Indeed the game was close, but the Pistons biggest mistake would have been to wipe the floor with Miami. After a drubbing Miami would come out with more fire each game.

It was one game, that's it. A single game in December doesn't prove anything....the question is will both teams field the same guys in the playoffs? Detroit will add back L Hunter, and Miami is sure to have Shaq ailing as usual. Can J Will replicate his performance? Can Wade shoot 14-20?

lol, just one game.

I think Joe D recognizes the weakness @PG, at least till Hunter gets back. I think Delfino could 'spot' the PG.

hmm 3 All-Stars for the Pistons?

Ben Wallace and Billups will be voted in by coaches [ coaches have to vote billups...deserving it this year... and ben.. obviously no other C deserving it]
Looks like Rasheed will take JO spotin starting line up

i guess pistons might finally get some respect this all star game (Y)
