The point is Larry Brown joined the wrong team. I don't think he should have left Detroit for a younger team which was clearly worse...I don't know what he was thinking. Did he really expect success in New York with those players?

PS : It's actually 5/15. You forgot Jackie Butler.

Exactly. Brown is a f-n idiot. What did he think was going to happen with this sorry-ass roster? All summer, we were talking about how soft this team was. Losing Kurt Thomas made things worse - he was the only player with any heart.

I knew the Knicks were in trouble after I saw them in pre-season. I told my boys, these cats don't know how to play basic basketball. No defense, no rebounding, too many turnovers....damn.

They've basically turned into one of those teams I used to laugh at when the Knicks were still a playoff team (not playoffs as in getting swept by the Nets though). Everybody's saying they'll be alright in a couple of years but I have a feeling this could take a lot of years, Knicks fans better prepare for some tough years. :cry:

Walt Frazier? Isn't he on MSG? Who is the main play-by-play man now that Marv Albert is doing Nets games now?

Last year when I had NBA Audio League Pass I used to listen to the Knicks Radio Network all the time. Gus Johnson is a great broadcaster.

Anyways , about the Knicks , they clearly aren't going to be good immediately. But a lot of that young talent like Nate Robinson and Ariza have future potential. In about 3 or 4 years they will be a playoff team but not a championship team.

No , thats what they have been trying to do , it has failed . Knicks need to start from scratch , I'm willing to go through some horrible years , only knowing that we are going to win in the future.

Yeah. We have to start over. Trade away big contracts and don't sign new ones (Fuckin Isiah!!) for smaller ones for young talent and draft picks.

I'd even trade away some of our younger talent with the big contracts if that's what it takes to get them away.

He should be fired right now.

He's done nothing but dig us in a bigger whole.

And he wouldn't admit it on Mike and the Mag Dog Friday, but he's made some horrible trades. He made one trades too many back in 2004 when he traded Keith Van Horn and Michael Doleac for Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohammed. Then when Mohammed added ended up good, he fucked things up even deeper by trading him for Malik Rose. Two terrible trades.

Before the KVH trade, the Knicks were actually playing good with chemistry and winning games. Their run was the only reason we even made the Playoffs that year. After that trade is when things obviously went down.

That Curry trade was ridiculous, even if Curry had NO heart problems i think Paxson would have signed that deal anyway.

OTOH he drafts pretty well, all the way back to his days in Toronto.

Somebody take away his phone until the trade deadline and he's probably a good GM.

layden is still worst than isiah though. Theres a lot of "potential" on the knicks at least.
With the Hawks win tonight knicks and hawks are now both 6-17. Talk about nice company :oops:

knicks are now tied for 3rd worst record. This is horrible :!:

Mike (New Brunswick NJ): What's the status of the Knicks' draft picks the next few years? They still have to give picks to the Suns and Bulls.

John Hollinger: OK, if you're a Knicks fan and didn't already know this you might want to sit down. The pick in the Curry trade had NO LOTTERY PROTECTION. So if the Knicks end up with one of the top picks, which they're headed toward, they'll just hand it over to Chicago. (But hey -- you still have San Antonio's pick from the Malik Rose trade!)

Wait, come back off the ledge, I have more. The Knicks also gave the Bulls the option to swap picks in 2007, so if the Knicks stink a year from now -- which is more plausible given their lack of a draft pick -- then they'll also forfeit that lottery pick.
